1000 miles in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here is the docufilm

1000 Miles in the Tyrrhenian Sea is a docufilm that showcases the incredible beauty of this sea, a unique concentration of diversity unparalleled anywhere else in the world. Exceptionally deep and dotted with both submerged and emerged volcanoes, it has always captivated sailors, inspiring them to cross its waters to discover the many archipelagos it is literally sprinkled with. In its waters rise masterpieces of rare beauty such as Giannutri, Ischia, Capri, Procida, and the enchanting Aeolian Islands.

1000 Miles in the Tyrrhenian Sea also means offering an exceptional added value. The cruise serves as a testing ground for essential marine accessories used during navigation, aiming to guide readers on what’s best to choose for their boats and what’s not.

The journey spanned 38 days of navigation, including stories and episodes personally experienced and narrated by the project’s creator, Luca D’Ambrosio: “There are many ways to approach yachting journalism. Some choose to relay news from an office desk, while others, like us, cannot resist the scent of the sea. We had long been looking for a format capable of fully conveying the beauty of sailing, one that could inspire more people to embrace yachting, the most wonderful activity in the world”.

Real voyages, beyond the creation of 1000 Miles in the Tyrrhenian Sea, were also designed to draft and enrich the digital pages of our Online Pilot Book, an inexhaustible source of information for the thousands of boat owners who rely on it during their cruises.

From 1000 Miles in the Tyrrhenian Sea come to life, in the form of articles, updated nautical guides and reviews of the equipment installed on board. Valuable content, published in our magazines, that serves and will continue to serve as a helpful resource for navigation and decision-making for the many boat owners who read our publications daily – to quote Luca D’Ambrosio directly – Magazines born from the passion of those who have chosen the sea as their profession”.

The destinations charted by the Daydreamer summarize the best scenarios of the Tyrrhenian Sea, carefully selected among the most beautiful and iconic locations. 1000 Miles in the Tyrrhenian Sea began at Marina di Varazze, heading towards the Tuscan Archipelago, then to the Pontine Islands, and finally the Phlegraean Islands. This first leg of 350–400 miles includes 10 enchanting islands, must-visit destinations for our summer holidays.

The journey continues through the lower Tyrrhenian Sea, reaching the Aeolian Islands after an additional 150 miles. These islands, mythologically tied to the Greek god Aeolus, were where he, by observing the puffs of smoke from Stromboli, could predict the weather. A stop in Palermo is a must, followed by a jump to Villasimius, nestled in the stunning southern Sardinia, before sailing up its eastern coast, a series of breathtaking landscapes and anchorages. Finally, the route takes us to the Strait of Bonifacio and the pristine beauty of Corsica’s western coast.

In this docufilm, you will discover coves where, at least once in a lifetime, it is essential to anchor your boat, whether sail or motor. Departures wrapped in rosy dawns and arrivals at sunset, with those unique reflections that only the Tyrrhenian Sea can paint as it casts its colors onto the magical cliffs of Palmarola. And the tuff rocks of Ponza, sculpted like works of art.

What a spectacle the Tyrrhenian offers—undoubtedly the most beautiful sea in the world…
