Positive press conference by Azimut Benetti Group at Cannes Yachting Festival.
” We’ re the only real big Family Company in Italian boating field with no foreign or government shareholding”. The first to speak was Paolo Vitelli, arrived at Martinez Hotel on his maxi scooter and a great smile on his face. On the stage, the entire general staff, starting from his daughter Giovanna and the new Azimut Business Line General Manager, Marco Valle.
Paolo Vitelli’s smile is perfectly justifiable: the whole production value has increased by 15% over the last two seasons, passing fro 611 to 710 million euros. “ And if +15% is a great result, achieving these numbers is increasingly more difficult. The higher up you go, the harder it gets to grow this way”.
As is tradition, the group has also confirmed its remarkable investments in research and development: 100 million for the next three years; the boats produced during the last 12 months are 300, Azimut’s workers are 4000, 50% of whom are direct employees. In the next three years, 12 new models, with a length between 10 and 50 metres, will come.
Among the big boats, the first ones will be Benetti Mediterraneo 116 (in the photo above), a 35.5-metre-boat designed by Giorgio Cassetta and Pierluigi Ausonio, Grande 35 (which will be launched in March 2017 at Dubai Boat Show) and Grande 21 (June 2017 at Azimut Benetti Gala).
Among the small boats, Verve 40 Weekender will arrive in some months at Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, while Azimut S7 and Azimut 60 will be presented at the next Cannes Yachting Festival.
