Cantiere del Pardo’s Grand Soleil 72 shines on Capri

There could not have been a better place than the enchanting setting of Capri for the first photo shooting of the brand-new Grand Soleil 72, flagship of the Grand Soleil fleet and the highest expression of Made in Italy that Cantiere del Pardo takes around the world.

This is an important debut for the Grand Soleil 72, as not only does it officially present to the world this unique project developed by
Cantiere del Pardo together with Franco Corazza, as Project Manager, Matteo Polli in charge of naval architecture, and Nauta Design for the interiors, it also opens the way to the launch of a new range of sailing yachts over 60 feet long.
That there was a lot of expectation behind this moment had already been perceived at the launch, which took place at the
Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, and a few months later here was the first recognition at the Genoa Boat Show where the Grand Soleil 72 won the Design Innovation Award in the category of sailing yachts longer than 10 metres: a totally Made in Italy design path, created by a team of professionals representing Italian excellence in the international boating sector.

Grand Soleil 72, sustainability and attention to details

Sustainability is now an imperative. This is why Cantiere del Pardo has chosen materials characterised by a high degree of recyclability and aiming at the lowest possible environmental impact, meticulously assembled thanks to the yard’s experience, matured over 50 years of history, which in addition to refined aesthetic lines, seeks perfection in every detail.

And so mention must be made of the hull, whose shapes designed by Matteo Polli are characterised by a pronounced V-bow; and also of its dynamic length, which, thanks to its slender lines and low wetted surface area, makes it possible to reduce friction while sailing, offering greater dynamic speed and stability when the boat is heeling.

The quality of the hull cannot be overlooked: it is made using an epoxy-based vacuum infusion process of vinylester resin in biaxial fibreglass and unidirectional carbon fabrics, which make it possible to obtain a light and resistant hull. It is also very strong and rigid thanks to the longitudinal and transversal structures of the most stressed areas of the hull, which are laminated in fibreglass and stiffened by unidirectional carbon reinforcements.

A well-balanced yacht both in terms of performance and navigation but also in terms of the elegance that accompanies owners and guests as they share splendid spaces of all-Italian refinement.

Dreamlike interiors, quality and elegance

interiorNow the interior. Let’s start with the structure, where all the bulkheads are weighed one by one, defining the thickness of each one ad hoc to optimize strength, lightness and performance.

The signature is by Nauta Design, which has conceived and refined every volume and detail of the deck and interiors, in walnut or oak, to exploit all the spaces, thus achieving a coherent and holistic relationship between them.

Everything here is calibrated to superyacht standards but still seeking a sober, fresh and welcoming style, the heart of which is definitely the living room. An elegant sharing space and meeting point consisting on the one hand of an L-shaped sofa with a dining table that comfortably seats up to six people, and on the other of a U-shaped sofa that extends to the chart area. The Performance version also has a galley positioned laterally towards the stern.

Last but not least the light, Cantiere del Pardo master cabinwhich envelops every room leaving an incredible view of the sea in every space, connecting man and the environment into one. A concept that is destined to evolve and adapt more and more to the needs of individual owners in a made-to-measure approach, which will be the basis of the new project that Cantiere del Pardo has launched in the over 60 foot market segment.

Tradition and attention to detail, these are the mantras of those who aim to achieve the highest standards in the boating sector.
