Only few sports boats are able to combine great performance with incredibly large spaces. If, moreover, we want to be delighted by breathtaking amazing design and a pleasant stop in the bay, maybe what we’ re looking for is just a mirage. Or maybe not. Probably, what we’re looking for is the new Frauscher 747 Mirage Air, a boat that, as it often happens with the creations of the Austrian shipyard, is a one-of-the-kind item.
The Frauscher 747 Mirage Air is one among the most successful boats in Frauscher range. Officially presented at the 2015 Boat Show for the first stime, it is clearly inspired by the 747 Mirage, an already excellent boat, both in design and performance terms but with special focus on versatility.
In fact, this motorboat offers a wide range of appliances.
The larger volumes of this version, where the closed deck has been removed, results in a considerable advantage for guests who can now benefit from greater freedom of movement around the central console and reach the sun pads or enjoy luxury picnics in the fore lounge.
More specifically, the side passage which connects the stern swimming platform to the cockpit is excellent and a large bench allow guests to enjoy conviviality during the cruise, combining the thrill of the speed with the pleasure of relax.
Furthermore, the reclining backrest of the seat makes the stern sun pad much larger and worthy of larger boats.
The bow section is the full expression of the designer’s spasmodic attention to guests. This area is indeed a small masterpiece of engineering, where “transformation” is the main player. A completely shadowed area, ideal for a pleasant happy hour, gives way to a convertible zone which, by lowering the coffee table, can easily be converted into an additional sun pad. If we, moreover, want to exaggerate and sun bathe (or relax) with our back to the bow, we will realize that our sofa has been converted into two amazing chaise longues. All in a sports motorboat with a length of just 7.5 metres: in other words, a pure innovation!
The center console is a concrete solid island in a sea of design. It accommodates two enveloping seats for the pilot and the co-pilot. As for motorization, the versions available range from 220 up to 430 Hp; if the “quietest” option outputs 40 knots, the maximum one delivers almost 60 knots.
Lateral air vents, made of carbon fiber, elegantly merge with the overall design that emphasizes the sporty vocation of this boat where it is very hard to resist high speed. The stepped hull, the extended waterline and the pronounced V-shaped bow enable even the less experienced owners to the most thrilling evolutions that will find in this hull a considerable safety margin along with excellent handling.
The price of this object of desire isn’t within anyone’s reach. The boat costs, in fact, 129,920 euros, VAT excluded.
However, if you can, enjoy a visit to the next Cannes Yachting Festival, planned to take place from 12th to 18th September, where the Frauscher 747 Mirage Air will be exhibited and available for sea trials.
Just a warning. If, after your test, an image will remain imprinted in your eyes, don’t worry: it’s just a Mirage.
