New AMERICA 35 unveiled at the Genoa Boat Show

ECHO YACHT is a very young brand with a history spanning over 40 years. The company is made up of individuals who have acquired significant know-how in the nautical field. The decision to launch the AMERICA 35 model was driven by the requests of many who asked if it was possible to purchase an AMERICA 30.

AMERICA 30 was a project designed by naval engineer Giuseppe Cimino, who launched this model on the market in 1983. It was a walkaround of less than 10 meters with cutting-edge characteristics and top speeds of up to 42 knots. The model achieved immediate success, and even today, its market value remains quite interesting.

Building on this foundation, the AMERICA 35 project was born—a walkaround that retains the features of the AMERICA 30 with a modern and innovative restyling.

We met Ciro Carnevale, the owner of ECHO YACHT, during the Genoa International Boat Show, where we asked him to describe the latest ECHO YACHT project and its main features.

“Echo comes from Greek; we wanted to evoke the concept of the past returning. We aimed to propose a product with significant roots while also being innovative both aesthetically and practically – Ciro told us – My lifelong passion for the sea has led me to want to introduce a boat to the market that didn’t exist, starting from what was a boating success. Thus, the AMERICA 35 was born”.

AMERICA 35 in detail

Among the features we particularly liked about this new AMERICA 35 is the transom that partially hides the outboard engines, topped by a huge sunbathing area measuring an impressive one meter and eighty, which can be electrically raised when needed. This innovation was implemented to improve and ensure a constant flow of air to the engines. The stern platform can also be moved to create a large access area to the two outboards, facilitating maintenance and/or replacement. An additional important function of the platform is to stabilize the boat while at anchor or when moored, as it descends 5 cm below the water level, creating a surface that stabilizes the boat with impressive efficiency.

In addition to the large sunbathing area at the stern, the AMERICA 35 offers another spacious sunbathing area at the bow, equipped with double sofa, one facing forward and one that wraps around the entire bow. There is also the possibility to install a table, creating a highly convivial area that can be shaded with various solutions as needed.

Amidships, we find a practical bar unit equipped with a sink and an induction cooktop. The T-Top that overhangs the center of the boat is well-proportioned, and at its rear end, a sunshade is installed for better shading the entire area. The space between the sunbathing area and the central unit allows for the placement of two “director’s” chairs, enabling comfortable dining thanks to a retractable table that can be installed, allowing for relaxed conversations while seated.

Another extremely clever detail that we really liked about the AMERICA 35 is the height difference created between the two side decks. The right walkway features two steps to access the bow, while the left walkway is level. This design allows for an unusual headroom on the bathroom side for an 11-meter boat, enabling the yard to install an opening porthole for ventilation, creating airflow that can sometimes be difficult to achieve on boats of this type.

The helm station is equipped with a seat that offers three different seating positions, and the console is not only protected by the T-Top but also shielded from the wind thanks to the very high windshield. The dimensions of the dashboard allow for the installation of a single large screen or two 12-inch screens positioned above the steering wheel at a great angle, ensuring immediate readability of all navigation data even in bright sunlight. The decision to place the control panel on the right, next to the steering controls, is optimal because it allows for full control of the entire boat from a single location. The winch, batteries, pumps, lights, and alarms are clearly marked, facilitating easy identification.

Interior

The interior of the AMERICA 35 is certainly not what one would expect from a boat of this size, as the yard has made the most of every single centimeter. By choosing to increase the beam and widening the V of the hull bow, two significant advantages have been achieved: on one hand, more available space, and on the other, a much smoother and softer impact on the waves while underway.

There is the option for an island double bed at the bow (in this model displayed at the boat show, it features a convertible V-shaped sofa), a spacious bathroom with a shower and separate toilet, a bed at the stern, and a large wardrobe on the left, allowing a family to comfortably live aboard for extended periods. The two side windows, combined with the portholes, illuminate the entire area, making the interior very livable, thanks in part to the light colors chosen by Echo Yachts for this model.

AMERICA 35 is therefore not just a walkaround but encapsulates a wealth of experience in design, incorporating all the know-how acquired over 40 years of boating craftsmanship. It is a concentrated piece of engineering that, in addition to possessing significant marine characteristics, is also a boat capable of meeting multiple needs, from day cruising to weekend getaways or longer vacations.

This model is powered by two Mercury 400 V10 engines, which can reach speeds of up to 45 knots. The owner, however, can also opt for 2 x 450 hp engines for extra adrenaline. With ample space in just over 11 meters, livability both inside and outside, and ease of engine maintenance, the AMERICA 35 has many features that make it a guaranteed success.

We can’t wait to test it at sea and share our impressions of the handling and hull performance.
