Astondoa unveils its new As5, a medium-sized yacht that emulates the lines of supercars by bringing them to the sea. As5 is a 57-footer designed to appeal to the desires of sporty owners who also love beauty and contemporary design combined with luxury, which this Iberian model does not fail to display. This is a fascinating vessel, from the flybridge of which you can look out over the abyss with the view enveloped by the full canopy. Or not, because the hardtop is optional and this should be considered as a useful choice to give the As5 an additional touch of beauty. Transparency is further enhanced on the main deck: the living room and galley are all gazed, and it is in this feature that the inspiration from the world of supercars emerges, with which Astondoa wants to share its “innovative spirit“. Astondoa’s aim is also to seek the “uniqueness“ of the product, and it does so with precise aerodynamics dominated by sharp, beautiful lines, right up to the bow, transversally grafted into the water and armed with a steel bow fitting from which the anchor can be easily lifted.
«Uniqueness»: Astondoa makes exception its motto “Since no two people are alike, no two Astondoa boats are the same” and rightly so, give the one hundred long years of maritime history in which this brand, based in Alicante, Spain, has made a name for itself, captivating four generations of yachting enthusiasts.
Tradition and future of Astondoa As5
As5 is related to an older sibling and brings a whole new future with her, while sharing “a very comfortable access to the bow through the two sideways with a mid-length step”. What is certainly striking about this enfant terrible of the sea is the glass trapezium that makes up almost the entire main deck, to which is added the wide horizontal line of deep glass that characterized the entire lower deck, where the cabins almost touch the sea, looking for it like a silk cushion.
The master cabin stretches across the whole beam of the boat, with its modern furnishings meeting with rounded lacquered surfaces, suspended in mid-air to leave room for LED lights on the floor. Total “habitability”, also reserved for two additional cabins for passengers who will try to sit back aft. There is a beautiful head, equipped with satin-finished sinks, twin but (above all) different, with two oval mirrors to complete the decoration on the walls in a beige rich in marble veining.
The living room is accessed from the aft solarium through a generous sliding door, which is also glazed. Here the wood floor meets the mirrored steel frame on the walls. There is room on this small stage for the on-board theatre, with friends sitting on the sofas to admire it. Continuing vertically on the flybridge, there is a further “pleasant and intimate” space to be shared with friends while sailing. The helm station is absolutely “ergonomic” and specifically designed to emulate the cutting-edge design of sports cars.
