After its presentation at Düsseldorf Boat Show, now it’s the turn of its Mediterranean baptism. Azimut 66, the last fly bridge by the yard of Avigliana, will be at Cannes Yachting Festival next September.
It will be accompanied by other 16 models: 7 of the Fly family (42, 50, 54, 60, 72, 80), 3 Atlantis models (34, 43, 50), 4 Magellano ones (43, 53, 66, 76), 2 S models (55, 77) and an Azimut 95 RPH.
Fly boats represent the most classic Azimut’s range, deeply restyled since Azimut 80 in 2013, later followed by Azimut 50 and 72. Among 65-foot-boats, Azimut fly bridges are certainly a reference point with over 300 units ( of Azimut 62 and 64) sold all around the world since 2002 until now.
Azimut 66 is a 20-metre-boat designed by Stefano Righini which shares the traditional soft lines and lateral shark-eye portlights with the other models of the range.
The fly bridge is totally extended, with huge spaces arranged in three different zones: a fore pilothouse flanked by a sunbed, a central dinette convertable into a sunbathing area and an astern living room. In addition to the traditional astern cockpit, there’s a fore lounge zone, too.
The carbon fibre used in superstructure construction has allowed to make the boat lighter and interior volumes larger. The interior designer Carlo Galeazzi, in collaboration with the design office of the yard, worked really hard to create very wide and comfortable spaces.
The interior layout has been conceived to host four cabins on the lower deck: a huge shipowner’s suite in the middle, a second fore vip cabin and two double guest cabins, with shared bathroom, between them. On the main deck, there are a sheltered pilothouse, a kitchen equipped with a wet bar and a lunch zone. Aft of the engine room, thus far from the guest cabins, there’s a crew zone with two berths and toilets.
