Catamarans and multihulls

Balance Catamarans at the Annapolis Sailboat Show with its three flagship models

The three most popular models from Balance Catamarans will all be showcased together at the upcoming Annapolis Boat Show. These are the 442, 482, and 526, which will be presented side by side for the first time. The chance to see these marvels is scheduled from October 10 to 14 at the Annapolis Show in Maryland, the largest boat show in North America.

This is the first time we have brought all three models to Annapolis – explains Balance Catamarans founder Phillip BermanWe are coming fresh off a very successful show in Cannes, France, where we were able to show and test sail for visitors our Balance 442 and our Balance 526 – a first for us in Europe – so we wanted to follow up with an even fuller range here”.

The Balance 442, with its carbon-reinforced foam-core hulls and powerful sail plan, is a very fast and agile yacht. It sails upwind between 6 and 8.5 knots but can reach up to 13 knots in open water, cutting through rough seas like a surfboard, thanks to Balance Catamarans’ excellently designed rudders. The Balance 482 also features a carbon-reinforced foam-core hull and an equally powerful sail plan, allowing it to sail upwind at speeds between 7 and 10 knots. “But if you really want to push it to the max, the current record for this boat is 28 knots”, proudly notes Berman. Top performance is however reached with the Balance 526, which is built like a high-performance racing vessel, while still being incredibly easy to handle. Unsurprisingly, this model won the 2023 Cape2Rio.

Visitors to the Annapolis Boat Show will have the chance to tour and test these three Balance Catamarans models during and after the show, by appointment only. Interested parties can send an email to cailie@balancecatamarans.com.

Balance Catamarans builds an entire line of high-performance cruising sail catamarans. In addition to the 442, 482, and 526, the range includes the 580 and the superyacht 750, which is the flagship of the line. “Balance Catamarans celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023, and showcasing all three models this year at the largest boat show in North America allows us to share the incredible story of our shipyard, marked by innovation and cutting-edge design, combined with performance and luxury – Berman notes – We are excited to display the three models together and invite enthusiasts to come and see these beautiful catamarans in person”.
