American premiere for the new Benetti line. At the 2017 edition of the Miami International Boat Show, the historic Italian shipyard has announced the birth of the new Benetti Now Fast range, which joins existing Benetti Now including steel-and-aluminium yachts over 50 metres, presented at the last Monaco Yacht Show.
The “Fast” specification already suggests the key elements of these new boats. Compared to their sisters, they have a hull which makes them 30% faster even “keeping the typical volumes and comfort of a displacing class”, states the shipyard.
External appearance, too, has been revisited by Omega Architects.
While preserving the traditional Benetti style, Now Fast yachts feature more aggressive lines.
The presented models are three: the BF164’ (50 m), the BF 184’ (56 m) and the BF224’ (68 m), also available in a X version with a raised pilot house.
Hull lines and naval architecture were handled by Mulder Design, which created a high performance hull but with lower draft and higher cruising speed. That’s the result of a long study focusing of structure, resistance and hull stability.
On the other hand, Team 4 Design – Enrico Gobbi designed interiors and proposed three different moods in the three distinct models to give an idea of the great style variability which can be used on these yachts, always featuring a high level of customisation.
In particular, the entry level BF164′ offers cosy well-balanced interiors: welcoming rounded lines with no right chines contrast with the more geometric tables and night stands. The dominant wood used is light hued oak, flanked by dark natural oak used for the C-shaped window structures. The colourways used for the fabrics and furnishing are muted and sober.
The BF184’ is, on the contrary, a little more extreme with an interior setting which is formal and edgy at the same time. Polished ebony is used as a counterpoint for the light oak walls, while the detailing features shades of light grey.
Finally, the BF224′ features a more classic traditional style. The wood varieties are lighter, creating a contrast between the beige oak furniture and the almost white oak of the walls, while the colours are calibrated to work with the yacht’s highly original decor that includes Tiffany blue details.
Extensive personalisation potential is offered on three different design levels: the exterior and interior layout – different versions with a closed sun deck or raised pilot house, but also custom layouts –, the highly flexible decor, and engines with various levels of performance.
Like existing Benetti Now yachts, Now Fast ones, too, will be built in Livorno, Italy.
