Besenzoni Ischia, the fluid and rigorous deck chair

A deck chair designed by Francesco Forcellini and inspired by the high-tech nature and precision of Besenzoni’s products, as well as by the concept of fluid living. Besenzoni Ischia is the latest addition launched by the Sarnico-based company at the FuoriSalone2024, as befits a design object. With this innovation, Besenzoni launches its new division BeDesign and paves the way for an extensive project, which includes collaborations with important designers active in various sectors. After achieving leadership as a manufacturer of components for yachts – including hydraulic gangways, cranes for flybridges and sterns, pilot seats, and side doors – Besenzoni is now poised to enter new market segments.

The Besenzoni Ischia deck chair in detail

With its square profile and polished steel structure, Besenzoni Ischia calls to mind the way light reflects on the water and is similar to other classic products designed by the company. The deck chair has a clean, linear design and generous padding, providing the level of comfort typically found in a piece of furniture for the home: it is a versatile piece of furniture that can be used on boats, outdoors as well as inside homes. Thanks to the possibility of using different fabrics, indeed, its character can change and be typically nautical by choosing the striped configuration, or more suitable for the home by opting for different pattern.

Besenzoni Ischia can be folded and stored away to take up less space when not needed, but once opened it has the comfort and style of a modern reclining lounge chair rather than that of a folding sun lounger.

The special attention Forcellini paid to detail is extraordinary: from the materials used to the stitching, right down to the pivoting anchor feet allowing it to rest firmly on the ground even on surfaces that are not perfectly flat, such as wooden jetties, Besenzoni Ischia is an extraordinary piece of design that makes a difference in furnishing your vessel, whether it’s a small sailing boat or a luxurious superyacht. The designer has also paid attention to the support point, designed not to damage fragile flooring: thus, the chair can be easily moved from one vessel to different environments without worrying about causing scratches.

The Giovanni Besenzoni Award

The ‘Giovanni Besenzoni’ award, organized for the second consecutive year in collaboration with the Industrial and Research Design course of the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti (LABA) of Brescia, fits perfectly into this new path. A scholarship that aims to stimulate research and innovation among young people, promoting the development of original solutions and ideas on the theme of ‘nautical outdoor’.
