Boat wedding is now possible: Pura Follia is an Ice 60 yacht that will walk you down the aisle….by sea!
If love is riding high but your “big day” has been postponed due to anti-Covid measures, you can make your wedding day even more special and safer in 2021 on board a dream boat. After all, there is no more romantic and more protected place than a boat to swear allegiance away from everyone or with only a few close friends around.
The reference is to Pura Follia, an Ice 60 yacht which, despite its name (pure madness, in English), can make your fairytale wedding dream come true. The idea comes from the creativity of Maurizia Marangoni, owner of the Bologna-based Castiglione Viaggi travel agency, in co-operation with Pura Follia Srl, owner of the boat, and Ice Yachts, which entrusted to the imaginative pencil of Umberto Felci the design of this elegant and powerful fast cruiser.
Anticonformist by nature, Maurizia Marangoni has thought of an unusual way of exchanging the rings, sailing on a wonderful sailing yacht like the Ice 60, where the couple can even decide to invite, in addition to witnesses, their relatives and friends up to a maximum of 12 people. In short, a really exclusive wedding, where newlyweds (to whom the bow master cabin is reserved ) and guests (who can use the two aft cabins) are served and revered by the crew.
Getting married on board and experiencing a honeymoon on the crest of the wave
In addition to wedding planning, the sailing wedding service includes the wedding cerimony – which can take place with a religious service on the ground by docking at the port closest to the church chosen by the spouses (suggestive the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, between Camogli and Portofino) and does not exclude the civil ceremony can be celebrated directly on board – and the honeymoon.
Docked in Gaeta, Pura Follia covers the whole Mediterranean, with cruises of one or more weeks from the Balearics to Greece, passing through the French Riviera, Malta and, of course, Italy with all its beautiful archipelagos, such as the islands of Campania, the Aeolian and Egadi islands up to Lampedusa.
Regardless of the destination, the starting point is always an Italian marina. Spouses will discover silent bays, breath-taking views and enchanting fishing villages like Procida and Ventotene, Sperlonga and Porto Venere, just to name some of the most important territorial beauties of Italy.
“ Boat holidays are the best holiday option available. That’s why I’ve thought of boat wedding. It’s an experience that combines the poetry of the sea with the freedom of navigation – explains Maurizia Marangoni – In a complex period like the one we’re experiencing due to the pandemic, many weddings have been postponed and we’re ready to offer an absolutely unique and unforgettable wedding solution, choosing the Italian seas because Italy is full of wonderful and romantic seaside resorts that have nothing to envy to the other countries”.
We just have to wish the future spouses a good life and … fair wind!
