“After three months of experimentation and development, BoatSwapping is finally on line with impressive results”.
Fabrizio Fabbri makes no secret of his satisfaction.
A fashion businessman with an overwhelming passion for sea and sailing, he has had the idea of developing a website where boat owners can swap their boats for free all around the world. Now, his satisfaction comes from the brilliant results achieved during the experimental phase of his platform: ” In just a few months, although not completely developed, 350 owners from 23 different countries and three continents have joined the website”.
The founder of BoatSwapping, present at the Genoa International Boat Show these days to promote his initiative, has chosen the stand of Boatandboats.com as a meeting point with everyone interested in joining this new experience. He takes the opportunity to tell us the two main novelties of his virtual platform: ” The first one – he says by showing us the website – is that, as I’ve already said, we’re 100 operative with a complete online platform. The second novelty concerns a new function, that is the possibility to exchange boat holidays“.
Until today, in fact, only boat exchanges all around the world have been proposed. The mechanism is very simple. Users only need to enter boatswapping.online to create their own windows on the world. A simple click on the map gives instant access to a detailed list of information: type of boat, place, period, place description, availability for simultaneous exchanges. At this point, if interested, users can click on “Contact the owner” to connect with the advertiser.
” BoatSwapping guarantees a total privacy protection – Fabbri explains – So, no owner data are visible. Those who are interested in swapping their own boats leave their telephone number to the other user. This way, a free relationship is established and can result into a final simple agreement where periods, guarantees and reciprocal commitments are set”.
The new “boat holiday exchange” function introduces an additional opportunity: now, users can sail all around the world as guests of the owner who, in his turn, will be their guest later.
” Thanks to this new formula – Fabrizio Fabbri continues – users can sail to New York living on board and sailing in waters they could never sail with their own boat which is docked in Rimini”.
In short, this new option introduces a new way of sailing in places that people don’t know. “To sail with the owner in waters and along coastlines he knows very well, – the founder of BoatSwapping explains to us – to dock in the harbours and drop the anchor in the anchorages means to know those places with the eyes of their connoisseurs and enjoy a direct contact with the yachting and social reality of the places you visit”.
” BoatSwapping – Fabbri continues – is a virtual yachting club where owners from all around the world can swap their boats and boat holidays while sharing experiences, information and human relationships. Me, too, I’ve exchanged a boat holiday with a Salerno-based owner this year. I sailed along the Amalfi Coast, seeing islands and places from the unique perspective that only a local connoisseur can give you. We started to become good friends, united by our passion for the sea”.
Meanwhile, a new step is announced and the new frontier of the platform is the world of fishing boats.
“Exchange mechanism and procedure will be the same but dedicated to fishing boat owners who can therefore go find out new places all around the world where to live their great passion”.
Until today, subscription has been 100% free and it will remain so throughout the year. In the next few weeks, new users will be asked to pay a membership fee to access what can potentially become the world’s largest virtual yachting club.
