Just over ten metres of pure adrenaline: this is the new flagship of the Cap Camarat range. The new center console model, Cap Camarat 10.5 CC, is the latest addition to Jeanneau’s sporty line.
It is the perfect boat for enjoying a day at sea with friends and family, going fishing or simply enjoying a drink with the music playing loudly by the shoreline… all seasoned with a sporty, adrenalin-fuelled spirit.
The presence of berths and a bathroom means that the Cap Camarat 10.5 CC can even accommodates guests overnight. In addition, the essential household appliances and fully-equipped galley make her a suitable boat for a variety of uses, from day trips to short-range cruises. Let’s see her together in detail…
Cap Camarat 10.5 CC: Exterior
Developed by Michael Peters Yacht Design, Patrice Sarrazin of Sarrazin Design and the Jeanneau designers, the design of Cap Camarat 10.5 CC is captivating with its sleek lines and tapered volumes… perfect for conveying all the sportiness of this model.
Sinuous yet aerodynamic forms characterize the hull of this boat. Although conceived for passionate fishing trips, Cap Camarat 10.5 CC is also a good solution for cruising with family and friends.
Two large cockpits – one in the stern with a table, foldaway benches and a large broadside hatch with integrated ladder and another in the bow with a U-shaped sofa and two large sunbeds – make this flagship the perfect solution for mixing fun with relaxation.
Flanking the helm station, comfortable and ergonomic even at high speeds, is the outdoor galley unit that incorporates a sink, cooker (or grill on request) and fridge, where excellent dishes can be prepared while remaining close to the boat’s main living area.
The V-shaped hull, specifically designed to support the great performance delivered by Cap Camarat 10.5 CC’s two 425 hp/three 300 hp engines, guarantees stable, safe and comfortable cruising, even at 47 knots.
Since fishing is the primary intended use of this boat, five rod holders have been fitted on the T-Top supplied as standard, which also protects the helm station. Two more rod holders have been provided on the port and starboard side bulwarks towards the stern, in order to make use of the dinette and check if any fish are biting, remaining close by and ready to collect them immediately.
In addition to the rod holders, which are especially useful for anglers, a transparent catch box has also been provided.
A big plus point for guaranteeing fun on this boat is the incredible number of music speakers, whose homogeneous distribution from bow to stern avoids the annoying effect of disparity of sounds that is common on many boats.
The entire area which is not covered by the T-Top and exposed to the sun, both fore and aft, can be covered with two soft, removable awnings that allow guests to enjoy the best moments outside even in very hot weather.
Interior
The door positioned to the left of the steering console leads below deck, giving access to the space in front of the forward master cabin, the largest and most spacious among night accommodations.
Here there are a wall-integrated refrigerator and microwave oven and a double bed that can be converted into a dinette with a U-shaped sofa, thus converting this space into a true interior living area. Equipped with a porthole and opening hatch with direct access to the forward cockpit (by raising the sun loungers), a single communicating indoor-outdoor area can be created.
The bathroom, which serves both as a daily toilet and as a head for the two cabins, is spacious, modern and has a separate shower with seat. The guest cabin aft, on the other hand, is a little smaller than the forward one but still has a large double bed, opening porthole and storage lockers.
Despite the size of the boat (10m), all spaces are comfortable and spacious, with generous headroom and all the equipment needed for your outings.
Cap Camarat 10.5 CC Sea Trial
We climb on board the Cap Camarat 10.5 CC on a rather gloomy day in Cannes. The weather and temperatures are not favourable, but this gives us the opportunity to push this boat to its limits, testing its resistance to bad weather.
Being mainly a daily boat, this boat of just over ten metres is almost completely open, giving a feeling of great space and freedom on board. The centre console expands the space and allows us to walk from stern to bow with ease.
We leave the harbour at 4 knots, sitting on the 3 comfortable and ergonomic front seats, perfect for supporting us at high speeds. As soon as we get out into the open sea, the weather gets even worse and a few drops of rain start to fall, but this doesn’t make us give up; on the contrary, it encourages us to test Cap Camarat to the maximum in the worst conditions, like today’s.
I put myself at the helm and operate the automatic trim of the two Yamaha XT0 425 hp outboard engines, I push the throttle forward and Cap Camarat reacts immediately: the power is perceptible, even at low speeds.
We’re upwind and upstream, I push the throttle down further and further, and in no time, we reach 42.2 knots, an incredible performance given the bad weather we’re facing.
I slow down, perform a few tight turns to the right and left, and the boat is stable even when crashing into the waves. I put the stern to the wind, do another top speed test, and this time, adjusting the trim manually, we reach 46.6 knots.
Unbelievable.
It seems almost impossible that a boat of this size, in such conditions, could achieve this performance without losing its safety.
One thing is certain… aboard the Cap Camarat 10.5 CC the fun will never be lacking.
Conclusions
