Featuring a new V-hull, T-Top, protective glass windshield, large hull windows and redefined interior spaces, the Jeanneau Cap Camarat 9.0 WA Series 2 gains an elegant style without compromising safety and fun for the whole family.
Exteriors
Starting from the stern, the Cap Camarat 9.0 WA series 2 features an L-shaped sofa that can be transformed into a spacious sunbathing area as needed. Thanks to the central table with telescopic legs, it can be lowered to form a single surface. The “folding bench” located on the side can also increase the seating area, allowing for comfortable dining for six people. Midship, there is a kitchen unit equipped with a stove and fridge, while on the port side, there is a sink. The large T-Top, supported by sturdy square pillars, provides excellent protection for the helm area and part of the aft area. Although not very tall, the windshield adds a sporty style to this Cap Camarat 9.0 WA series 2, which, together with its side moldings, truly assumes an unmistakable character.
The side-opening door, positioned on the left and skillfully designed by the shipyard for this new version, allows for a convenient access area to the sea while also increasing the livability on board during stops at anchor. Moving forward, there is a comfortable sofa for three people that can be transformed into a very spacious sunbathing area simply by placing an additional cushion on the foredeck walkaround.
The steering console provides ample space and is well-protected by the windshield and T-Top. The instrumentation is easy to read, with the control panel for various services located to the left of the steering wheel.
Interior
Descending into the cabin, on the left, there is a useful unit with a sink, while on the right, there is the bathroom door which, although small in size, maximizes the space of this Cap Camarat 9.0 WA series 2. Towards the bow, lowering the central table reveals a decent-sized bed, while aft, the transverse bed has a truly interesting surface area as it exploits the entire width of the boat. The interior brightness is provided by the side windows that almost entirely wrap around the hull of the Cap Camarat 9.0 WA series 2 and by the portholes positioned on the cabin roof.
Cap Camarat 9.0 WA Series 2 Sea trial
We leave Port Canto with little sun and a crosswind making it not quite warm, in fact, I’d say the day feels autumnal. The windshield provides good protection from the wind, and slowly accelerating, I move beyond the speed limits of the area, which impose a maximum of 10 knots. At 1000 RPM, I head towards the islands off Cannes at a speed of 5 knots. The waves make themselves felt, so I quickly accelerate, reaching 3000 RPM so that the Cap Camarat 9.0 WA Series 2 lifts out of the water and planes to gain the open sea.
With this new V-hull, the boat cuts through the waves with more power, making us bounce less than usual. Near the islands, the sea is slightly calmer, and I take advantage to push further. At 5000 RPM, we’re already at 36.2 knots; I accelerate again to reach the maximum speed. At 5500 RPM, I read 42.0 knots with a fuel consumption of 192 l/h.
There are three of us on board, and certainly on a day with flat seas, I believe the Cap Camarat 9.0 WA Series 2 could reach 44 knots. The two Yamaha 250 V6 engines are, in my opinion, well-suited for this hull because they provide excellent acceleration at the start, and at a cruising speed of 22 knots, they consume 65 l/h.
I perform a couple of maneuvers in reverse and reverse the throttles of the two engines to realize how little space the Cap Camarat 9.0 WA series 2 needs to rotate on itself or maintain its position.
Returning to the harbor calmly at a speed of 22 knots, we enjoy some sunshine finally peeking out over the bay of Cannes.
