Chris-Craft Launch 28 GT: the range evolves

Chris Craft has been building boats for 142 years. The style of the legendary American brand is unique: elegant sporty open boats characterized by excellent performances and great seaworthiness. With the official presentation of the new Launch 28 Gt at the last Miami International Boat Show, the American boatyard has managed to bring home a not easy result. In other words, the company has succeed in building a boat which is immediately identifiable as a Chris Craft while proposing completely new elements.

The Launch 25 GT exhibited in Miami, fitted with twin inboard-outboard engines

This 28-footer is part of the Launch family which consists of 5 different models from 23 to 38 foots. Ideally inserted between the 27- and the 30-footer, the new concept is a completely different boat whose deck is revolutionary if compared with those ones on board all the predecessors of the same range.

Versatility is the term which best identifies the character of the Launch 28 Gt. The stern, for example, is highly equipped to provide guests with a space where to relax and enjoy outdoor activities. More specifically, the transom offers two comfortable settees overlooking the stern bathing platform which, in its turn, provides passengers with instant access to the boat from both the sea and the dock. Moreover, a folding support located below the seating can be equipped with an electrical system to enjoy water skiing.

Always in the stern, we can find the engines, offered in two different options: an outboard version or twin inboard-outboard motors, like the model exhibited at the Miami Boat Show. The standard inboard-outboard version includes two Mercruiser engines outputting up to 600hp in total. A single motor is, on the contrary, envisaged in the outboard version.

In addition to the stern boarding platform, passengers can climb on board also through a side door located on the sideboard side, near the stern sofa. Welcoming and cozy, the cockpit is furnished with a L-shaped sofa which occupies the whole area next to the transom settee and a portion of the port wall. Opposite, an additional corner couch is positioned behind the pilot station.

The steering console is clearly inspired by contemporary automotive design. Highly ergonomic thanks to the clever position of engine controls, it is equipped with a touch screen navigation control panel.

The co-pilot’s seat is on the port side. This way, a central passage gives instant access to the forward section, where designers have created an additional relaxation area with a U-shaped bench which perfectly follows the bow’ inner profile.

High quality materials – steel, varnished mahogany and refined marine fabrics – can be found throughout this innovative boat, displaying Chris Craft’s strong devotion to craftsmanship.
