COLUMBUS YACHTS 40M SPORT HYBRID DIVINE AT MONACO BOAT SHOW

Palumbo Group is living a very exciting period. Last August, it defined the acquisition of Isa Yachts and some months before it had opened a new seat in Santa Cruz, Tenerife, after buying its fifth yard (an operation which has reinforced Palumbo’s presence beyond the Mediterranean).

And that’s not all. Tomorrow, in fact, Palumbo will unveil some interesting news at its conference at Monaco Boat Show while new Columbus Yacht 70m is under construction in Italy. Entirely built in aluminium and designed by Vafiadis & Partners Studio, this superyacht is one among the few big yachts built without any buyer.

At Monaco Boat Show (September 28- October 1), Palumbo will exhibit Divine, the second sample of Columbus Yachts 40 M Sport Hybrid, which awarded Superyachts Awards 2016 in the Semi-Displacement&ThreeDeck 30-40.9 m category.

The name, 40 M Sport Hybrid, indicates a general concept which aims at high performances and attention to the environment. The aluminium hull is semi-displacing. The engine is diesel-electric hybrid, developed by Palumbo, through a solution which allows to sail electrically at a maximum speed of 8 knots and produce energy when engines are working. The yacht sails at 3-20 knots with an average 215 l/h consumption.

Divine is a yacht with three decks, an aggressive bow and elegant soft lines. The naval architects and exterior designers are Palumbo Group and Hydrotech, while interiors have been designed by Palumbo Group in collaboration with Hot Lab Studio.

Divine can host 12 guest in 5 cabins, a shipowner’s cabin, in addition to 8 crew members. All interiors have a fresh elegant simple style, with homogenous colours and light anywhere, especially on the main deck which hosts the salon and the shipowner’s cabin. Here, sides become balconies and, behind them, huge windows blend interiors and exteriors in a boundless terrace.
