Discovering the Contest 55CS
Walking through the pavilions dedicated to sailing at Boot Düsseldorf, we could not help but notice the large crowd waiting to enter Contest Yachts‘ booth. And it could not be otherwise, since the Contest 55 CS, exhibited in a privileged position, was one among the most anticipated world premieres at the boat show.
A glance was enough to understand why: Contest Yachts has scored another masterful stroke with this sailboat, which is simply beautiful. However, it is not just beauty that enchants. It is enough to observe her, both inside and outside, to understand that the new Contest 55CS is the cornerstone of a new evolutionary step of this shipyard as regards the combination of aesthetics and pragmatism. Let’s see together why.
Contest 55CS, elegance and pragmatism on board
The lines designed by Judel/Vrolijk & Co. are extraordinarily harmonious and refined. Designed to offer remarkable sailing performance at sea, they offer the the undeniable advantage of giving this yacht a highly refined aesthetics.
The hull structure, as usual for this shipyard, was built under Lloyd’s certification with carbon fiber elements that guarantee greater sturdiness while reducing the dimensions of some components.
The yacht is also distinguished by its shapes that inexplicably manage to be aggressive and elegant at the same time, both forward and aft.
Moreover, thanks to a large sail plan and a hull specifically designed to guarantee a good form stability, the Contest 55CS promises to cover many miles fast, even in the harshest weather conditions.
In conclusion, the Contest 55CS seems to be a concentrate of elegance and efficiency. As you will have understood, we look forward to testing her.
Unrivaled interiors at the highest levels of finishing and beauty
Just past the companionway, what immediately strikes of the interior design, which is a perfect mix of classic and modern style signed by Wetzels Brown Partner, are finishes, which present themselves as high-prestige craft works.
Featuring particularly warm tones, the environment is tidy and classy. No construction detail is left to chance, just as there is no trace of sharp edges.
The dinette, high and bright, gives the feeling of being in a real salon which, thanks to its large spaces, is able to offer an excellent level of comfort to numerous guests, who can all find a place to sit comfortably here.
Light has a central role here, thanks to the wide windows that characterize this “semi-raised saloon”, pushing the boundaries of this environment beyond its natural borders.
The sofas, in this cream-coloured version, face each other and exploit the full-beam width of the dinette, allowing for an easy circulation within this space. A large pouf, the extendable table and a chart table with two displays complete a refined and functional decor of unprecedented beauty.
The galley, positioned on the port side, is fully-equipped and its long comfortable countertops allow to prepare even the most elaborate dishes during navigation. A rectangular and oblong window provides the chef with a great amount of natural light, giving the possibility to enjoy the view while cooking.
The master cabin is furnished with a king-sized bed in the middle and a panoramic window just behind. Two reading lights on each side and the white spotlights in the ceiling gently illuminate an extremely welcoming environment. Like the rest of the boat, finishes give a unique touch of charm to a master cabin that has nothing to envy to a suite.
One of the main features of the Contest 55CS is the possibility to customize the boat according to the owner’s needs, without never compromising the (very high) quality of the yacht, a true pearl of the sea.
