DUBAI BOAT SHOW: NOT JUST MEGAYACHTS AND SHEIKS

Dubai International Boat Show, the most important exhibition of all you can expect from the land of emirs and sheiks, will start tomorrow, with even some interesting news about not too expensive accessories and free activities.

Let’s start from numbers which , beyond easy clichés, explain why Middle East is so interesting for boating: the inclination of rich people to buy a yacht is 55% in UAE, the highest percentage among the other commercial macroregions in the world ( it has been calculated by Superyacht Builders Association – SYBAss). So, not only rich people and a great interest for yachts and everything concerning boating life style: marina building, coastal areas remake, water activities promotion.

In addition to megayachts and big brands, from Riva to Azimut and Prestige, Dubai International Boat Show proposes a lot of accessories and activities. Every day, visitors can sail on a sailing or a fishing boat for a 2-hour- sea trial; they can attend some nautical lessons and enjoy water sports on the beach. At only 50 Euros, they can even have a luxury dinner on a megayacht.

Among accessories, at a little more than 100 Euros, a diving suit allows to bring your Iphone to 40 metres under water, while different kinds of submarine drones ensure very professional photos. There are also new portable light electric grills, patented in USA, at less than 1,000 Euros. They don’t need neither fire nor gas

Finally, even if it isn’t neither an accessory nor a boat, there is the wonderful floating house, built in Portugal from a young start-up company: it is called Floatwing and it is entirely scaleable. In the simple version it is conceived to stay in the dock, while the two more advanced versions allow to move (in inner waters, of course). It can host three bedrooms and it has an energetic autonomy of 7 days. Price is not available, but it seemed to us a good idea.
