Ecolux 850 Hybrid: Video Test

The new ECOLUX 850 Hybrid, the new day cruiser from Ecoline Marine, is the perfect combination of outstanding design and the sense of responsibility that drives us to seek an ever lower environmental impact.

These are the opening words of the latest video test that enriches “Boat Review”, the editorial format that The International Yachting Media dedicates to the most interesting yachts of the season. But this marvellous motorboat is far more than interesting. Top-notch finishes, an exciting hull and innovative technological content are all part of a boat that is destined to leave its mark.

Ecolux 850 Hybrid

Giorgio Bruno takes us, with his usual precision and simplicity, to discover this new Ecolux 850 Hybrid which, as its name suggests, is fitted out in a hybrid version, with a 330 HP turbo diesel engine and a 25 kW electric motor.

In just a few minutes, this video perfectly succeeds in describing the most important features and strengths of this boat, which manages to combine silent navigation in electric mode with the exciting performance of this hull which, as if on velvet, travels in diesel mode at speeds of over 35 knots.

The boat is equipped with two 13.4 KW batteries which, made of LITHIUM NIKEL MANGANESIUM COBALT, are completely fireproof and allow great efficiency and optimized life span. The batteries can be charged either from the harbour’s charging stations or from the endothermic engine itself, when underway.

Alongside the Ecolux 850 Hybrid, Ecoline Marine offers diesel and full-electric versions, even though we can save a lot of fuel by sailing electrically and, if we think of how much less pollution we are releasing into the environment, we can be proud of having done our part to protect the marine environment, which is increasingly under threat.
