We told you about Elan GT5 and her first sketches immediately after the Boat Show of Dusseldorf. Now, it’s the turn of her first official rendering, maybe a little inscrutable but useful to discover something more anyway.
She will be launched into market after summer, during the main autumn boat shows and the starting point is the “evil” S5 (12 metres long). The most amazing thing of this new version is the innovative central raised-saloon and the new appearance of the boat: sporting lines, fast hull, spacious interiors.
The interior layout provides for two versions: two or three cabins, with a single astern bathroom equipped with a separated shower box. However, optionals include a second fore toilette serving the shipowner’s cabin. In the central zone of the boat, sheltered by the raised-saloon, the kitchen is located just before the fore bulkhead, which frees a lot of space in the living zone, as usual in bigger boats.
Judging by what we heard from designers, another innovative feature will concern the cockpit, which will be more spacious and equipped with an external kitchen, a fridge, a sink and a grill. The huge walkable surface is possibile thanks to the particular design of the hull, a trademark of Rob Humphreys, typically inspired by racing boats.
Elan GT5 is also provided with easy-sailing. Consequenly, she can be steered even by a skeleton crew. All riggings are within the reach of the helmsman.
