Elan GT6 world preview: the “spoiler” before the launch in May
The understandable taste of the forbidden will finally disappear in May, when the Elan GT6, virtually presented thanks to highly sophisticated reality system at Boot Düsseldorf last December, will leave the Elan’s Slovenian shipyard, where she is currently in phase of completion, and will be launched to the delight and curiosity of all cruiser-addicted.
The waiting is therefore almost over and we will soon discover what, featuring a length of 49 feet (15.2 meters), is already defined as the natural evolution of the Elan GT5, the forerunner of Elan Yachts’ crossover collection.
The new flagship of the Slovenian brand is destined to inaugurate a new series of comfortable performing sailboats, starting from an element which currently makes it truly unique. The Elan GT6, in fact, is the first yacht in its class to feature a flush deck.
Elan GT6 world preview: interior design, the elegance of order
The International Yachting Media takes you to discover the interior design of the Elan GT6 in world preview. As soon as you pass the hatch, you are immediately impressed by a tidy essential environment, in which the brown of the wood finishes chromatically prevails in a clear soft shade that gives brightness to the whole living space, luxury and comfortable at the same time. The use of solid woods and refined curves is extensive.
The galley is forward, right on top of the keel where the yacht’s motion at sea is most comfortable with minimal pitching.
This arrangement frees up space further aft for a huge full-beam saloon, which creates a unique environment without any bulkheads or divisions.
A lavish owner’s suite with a king-size island double bed makes best use of the forepeak and big through-hull windows in every cabin give a great view out. Even the double cabins in the stern are spacious and characterized by an essential yet elegant design.
The Elan GT6 offers a wide range of layout options and configurations to fully customize the yacht according to your needs. Very high, as usual at Elan Yachts, is the quality of the materials with which the new flagship is made.
Elan GT6 world preview: a “triune” wonder
The Elan GT6 is the “triune” synthesis of Elan Yachts, Humphreys Yacht Design and Studio F.A. Porsche. The designer of the first Porsche 911, well-known for its extraordinary achievements in the yachting field (among them, the Dynamiq Yachts GTT 115 and the Royal Falcon RFF 135, both featuring a futuristic design), has now signed the Elan GT6, contributing to make both the interior and exterior design particularly intriguing.
The exterior design was somewhat unveiled during the virtual presentation at the German boat show. For this sailing yacht, Humphreys has designed a new performing hull and an innovative sail plan to better embody the luxury and exclusive Grand Tourer style.
One notable feature, rarely seen on a yacht of this size is the deck profile: completely flush forward of the mast with a subtle, elegantly streamlined deck saloon further aft. The cockpit layout is a blend of renowned Elan’s ergonomics and Studio F. A. Porsche’s minimalist style, which gives the GT6 an elegant and sinuous silhouette through clean lines and curved surfaces capable of emitting light flares while the yacht moves in the water.
