It’s true, our passion for the sea doesn’t force us to be perfect mechanics, electrician or technicians. However, when we sail, we must be able to make some little works on our boat.
Simple things, like changing a filter, tightening a hose clamp, replacing an electric cable. To do so, we need the necessary spare parts and a good tool case.
Some boats are totally unprepared from this point of view and their shipowners always hope that nothing bad happens or that a technician is ready to intervene. But experience teaches that it’s not always like this and that a minimum tool equipment is always necessary.
What are the essential tools? And where must they be stored?
We asked an expert, Lorenzo Caminati (Settemari Yacht, Porto Lotti). In the following video, he explains the importance of a good tool case and high quality tools on our boats.
