Guidi at Genoa Boat Show: “More races with Fantini”
At the Genoa Boat Show we met Andrea Fantini, skipper of the Class40 FRA 156 sponsored by Guidi, a historic company producing nautical accessories at its headquarters in Grignasco. The skipper from Ferrara confirms how Guidi’s sea socket, installed on the Class40 FRA 156, proved to be “a real guarantee, truly indestructible”. This is an authoritative opinion, which comes after at least three highly competitive races in which Fantini, testimonial of the company, has put himself to the test. The “Nodoxnodo” partnership, which began with Les Sables/Horta race last June and continued with the 608 miles of the Fastnet Race in August, was set up by Guidi Srl with the aim of drawing on the opinions of the skipper, who, during the races, was actually involved in testing some of the company’s products under strain.
The competitive ‘stress’ was followed by excellent results and at the same time saw Guidi as a supporting player in competitive sailing. “Together with Guidi and the whole team we did a great job, we’re all happy. It was the first year, so we had to understand certain things. But it was a good project and we hope to continue it. Possibly involving other partners, because the idea is to continue with other ocean races, maybe even a round-the-world race,” Andrea Fantini explains with satisfaction. From November 7-11 the Guidi Class40 FRA 156 will take part in the Transat Jaques Vabre sailing competition. On this occasion, too, Fantini will be in duo with Charles Louis Mourrau, the boat’s owner. The Jaques Vabre means the Coffee Route: starting from Le Havre on the English Channel, passing a virtual buoy in Cape Verde and then arriving in Martinique. A sailing adventure in which Guidi’s ambassador will give further proof of his abilities. It will also be the right occasion to confirm how much the work carried out in the shipyard during this stand-by period has proved to be successful.
Guidi and Andrea Fantini: the partnership continues
Races and boat shows. After the Genoa Boat Show, which was the perfect opportunity for the many professional meetings held by the Valsesia-based company with customers, agents, distributors and partners “confirming the very lively moment of the nautical market”, Guidi will also attend Mets in Amsterdam from November 16-18. On this occasion, it will also open a streaming link with Andrea Fantini, who is currently in France for the trials of the Transat Jacques Fabre. The “Nodoxnodo” season is therefore drawing to a close with a 2021 project that has given us great sailing emotions, but Guidi is already looking ahead to next year with Fantini as new testimonial. Guidi’s Communications office confirms that the company is already thinking about “extending the collaboration“, which will probably be “further improved“. More news will come from Mets, the B2B event reserved for nautical accessories, which is set to reopen in November following last year’s obligatory break.
