2017 edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre kicks off and maxi trimaran Gitana wants to win

On Sunday, 5th November, the 2017 edition of Transat Jacques Vabre finally kicks off.

The Transat Jacques Vabre is a yachting race that follows the historic coffee trading route between Le Havre, France, and Salvador de bhia, Brazil.

The event is exclusively open to long-experienced sailors and boats from four different classes: two powerboats – the Class 40 and the Imoca 60 – and two multihulls, the Multi 50 and the Ultima, including the maxi trimaran “Edmond de Rothschild”, led by Sebastien Josse and Thomas Rouxel.

See, in the footage below, how they are getting ready for the competition.
