GX Superyachts GX42, construction of the first 42-meter yacht is ahead of schedule

The turning of the aluminum hull marks a major milestone in the construction of the GX Superyachts GX42. This complex process took place at the SES Yachts facility in Turkey, showcasing the seamless integration of the hull and superstructure ahead of schedule. The 42-meter yacht features an ultra-efficient hybrid propulsion system and solar panels. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2026.

Turning of the GX42 yacht hull

GX Superyachts has taken another giant step towards delivering its first revolutionary GX42 yacht with the turning of the aluminum hull. The complex manoeuvre marks a key milestone in the build and made for a strong start to the new year for a brand that is making waves.

Four huge mobile cranes and several careful hours were required to complete the lift, which took place outside the main shed at build partner SES Yachts near Tuzla, Turkey.

The first unit from GX Superyachts

It is always an impressive moment when a large hull is turned, defying the evident solidity of the metal construction. But anticipation was particularly high in this case because it is the first build project for newly minted GX Superyachts. The 42m (138ft) yacht will combine market-leading efficiency with exceptional comfort and write a new chapter for responsible yachting.

Joining of the GX Superyachts GX42 hull and superstructure

Not content with merely turning the hull, the build team has also managed to mate the hull and superstructure. The first GX42 is the sleek raised pilot house version, whose low-profile, curved hardtop gives her both sporty looks and the platform for an astonishing 27kW (max power) of solar panels.

The GX Superyachts range spans from 24 to 56 meters and boats hybrib propulsion. Delivery of the first GX42 is scheduled for summer 2026.

There is already strong interest in the GX Superyachts GX42

“It is hugely exciting to see our carefully chosen build partner SES Yachts making such good progress,” said GX Superyachts founder and owner, Vladimir Zinchenko.

“The turning of the GX42 hull could have been an anxious moment but it proceeded exactly as planned. Not only that, but the superstructure and hull have now been joined, transforming her for the first time into the ship she will become. The build is actually ahead of schedule, to the owner’s clear delight. We are starting to show the GX42 to the many prospects who have expressed real interest in the GX Superyachts brand. It feels as if this incredible project has just taken a huge leap forward. We couldn’t be more pleased with the dedicated team that have made all this possible, from Marco Casali’s visionary design to Francesco Rogantin & NAMES for top-tier naval architecture and SES for their skilled craftsmanship.”
