Hatteras Yachts, the 45GTX becomes Fly

With almost 60 years of experience in boat building, Hatteras Yachts is the worldwide leading manufacturer of technically highly performing fishing boats. Not only fast vessels but, above all, boats fitted with complete technical equipment, clever cockpit and flybridge layouts, smart arrangement of the spaces devoted to fishing activities.

The Miami International Boat Show, ended some weeks ago in Florida, was the occasion for the South Carolina-based boatyard to unveil in world première the new GT45X. The new offshore fishing boat joins an already rich family of models which includes sporty open boats and luxury yachts from 45 to 105 feet in length. More specifically, the GT45X enriches the 45-foot segment, introducing herself as the fly version of the previous 45-footer.

” The GT45X – Hatteras Yachts President and CEO Kelly Grindle stated – has proved to be so popular with offshore fishermen that we decided adding a flybridge option which will provide tournament anglers with another competitive edge”.

And indeed the beating heart of the boat seems to be positioned just on the upper deck, where the most important “plus” elements for anglers have been introduced. First of all, visibility. The elevated operating station allows a view of the water from a long way off while the centrally-located steering console provides the pilot with a complete control and monitoring of his fishing spots and activities.

The flybridge is equipped with a co-pilot chair, two large settees positioned in front of and next to the pilot station and many storage compartments.

Two touchscreen displays and complete navigation instruments guarantee a constant control of both navigation data and boat operation. The same equipment can be found in the indoor pilot station, perfect to steer the boat in heavy or cold weather.

As for the cockpit, the new model proposes the same arrangement of the open version of the GT45X. So, a total freedom of movement all around the boat, side rod holders, bait and fish tubs and an elevated sofa located just next to the living wall. And in order to enjoy the best cruising confort, the transom is even equipped with an electric grill and an outdoor refrigerator.

Interiors, too, replicate the arrangement of the open version, with a living consisting of a galley on the starboard side, a lounge on the port side and a beautiful master cabin in the bow. The Hatteras Yachts GT45X is also offered in a 2-cabin version. In this case, the second cabin is positioned on the port side, at the expense of the dinette sofa. Both versions feature only one bathroom.
