Just a few hours before the official opening of the Cannes Yachting Festival, in the huge surface of 300 thousand square metres which will host the yachting citadel, both organizers and exhibitors experience their last arrangements with great enthusiasm and excitement.
Except for boats – 600 in total – now almost all arrived and docked along quays, preparation of stands, systems and tensioned structures seems to be still far from ready. However, as is always the case, after an endless night of work, today morning at 10:00, the boat shows will open its doors in perfect order as it has always happened in the last 40 years.
This year, in fact, Cannes Yachting Festival celebrates its 40th anniversary with record-breaking numbers.
With over 600 boats on display ranging from 2.80 up to 65 metres in length and an exhibiting surface of 300 thousand square metres, the French event promises to be the Europe’s largest boat exhibition of the year.
Cannes Yachting Festival will bring together over 500 exhibitors from all around the world while 50,000 visitors are expected to come between today and Sunday 17th September.
This morning, the editorial staff of The International Yachting Media did a little recon and seized the opportunity to let its drone take off for a short flight on the Vieux Port, one of the two basins where boats are on display – the other one is Port Pierre Canto, on the eastern side of the bay – to give you some images.
108 worldwide previews, over 100 sailboats and a multitude of new motorboats will be the key ingredients of the event. Of course, superyachts will stand out both in terms of size and advanced technology. Among motor yachts, the most interesting ones will certainly be the new 48-metre Baglietto and the Benetti Crystal 140. Among sailboats, on the contrary, the Swan 95, the Brenta 80 and the Mylius 76 seem to raise high expectations.
But Cannes Yachting Festival is not only an interesting yachting showcase but also a chance for visitors to test the boats they are potentially interested to.
Boatandboats.com will be present at the event from today until Sunday 17th September to tell you about the most interesting and beautiful novelties on display both at quays and at the exhibitors’ stands. Facebook live broadcoasts, articles and videos will crowd our web portal. So, stay tuned at the following link: Cannes Yachting Festival.
