MIAMI. STARRY NIGHT FOR THE NEW JEANNEAU 51

Docked in the slightly choppy waters of the Miami River in the heart of Down Town, the new Jeanneau 51 seems to be ready to sail off for a long cruise. But it’s there to receive the admiring gazes of all the visitors the French shipyard has gathered in Miami for the American premiere of its latest creation.

Boatandboats was the only international magazine which was invited to this special event where, in the presence of Jeanneau general management, the new Jeanneau 51 was presented and celebrated for its nature, that is that of a pure cruising boat with no compromise.

Designed by Philippe Briand, the boat follows the layout of the already successful 54-foot model presented two years ago. Thus, it ranks at the top of the Jeanneau production, where the shipyard pours every effort to build  boats where comfort is the key element in an elegant context.

The new Jeanneau 51 is a pure cruiser featuring a large cockpit separated into two distinct zones, with one for all things related to sailing and another for guests. The border is ideally marked by the two wheels behind which the helmsman has access to all the main functions that are needed to control the boat. It’s the typical expression of “easy sailing“, where a smart arrangement of deck equipment allows to steer the boat with little crew or even alone.

Forward the double wheel opens the large guest zone, enriched, like on board the 54-foot model, with two large sun pads located on the sides of the under-deck access.

From the 54-foot model, the new Jeanneau 51  has also inherited the astern pilot station which moves vertically so that it is on the same level than cockpit flooring when sailing while, when at anchor, it can descend to the sea level and create a platform in direct contact with water.

Jeanneau 51 cabinaInteriors are available in three different versions: three double cabins and three bathrooms, two double cabins and a single one or two double cabins and two bathrooms. In all cases, interior volumes are always arranged in order to provide both dinette and galley with lot of space (the galley is always spacious and comfortable even while sailing), which confirms the cruising soul of the boat.

What is really remarkable is the space dedicated to the fore master cabin, whose size is always the same in the three different versions. The French shipyard has created a zone where the owner can enjoy an intimate and practical space at the same time, where the large walkable surface, the stowage compartments, the large en-suite bathroom ensure a very high comfort level.
