MAR.CO E-Motion 32, comfort and style take the lead

Just looking at it while it’s moored, you can understand that we’re facing a concentration of sportiness and elegance. The MAR.CO E-Motion 32 is a high-performance, aggressive RIB. This version in metallic anthracite gray, with a T-Top and metallic black dashboard, paired with the choice of light teak, makes this inflatable boat even more captivating, making us eager to jump on board immediately to speed across the water.

The MAR.CO E-Motion 32 in detail

Before starting the two outboard engines, we take a few minutes to appreciate the extremely high level of finishing and the attention the shipyard paid to every single detail. As soon as we step on board the MAR.CO E-Motion 32, the T-Top supported by the curvilinear tubular structure catches our eye, which is both enveloping and proportionate in design. We also immediately notice the presence of the very tall windscreen, which provides excellent protection from the wind and cold, ideal for days like today, not particularly friendly from a weather standpoint.

At the stern, the platform allows easy access to the sea and to the two Mercury 350 V10 Verado outboards mounted on this model. The large U-shaped sofa allows six guests to sit comfortably, while underneath it, there are spacious lockers where you can store all the necessary items for cruising. The central cabinet of this MAR.CO E-Motion 32 offers ample space for a generous fridge, a sink, and a cooking plate.

Moving to the helm station, the two cockpit seats are the epitome of the attention to detail paid by the shipyard in constructing this RIB. This is because the space is very comfortable even for taller-than-average individuals, like myself. The Garmin plotter placed at the center of the station and the Mercury interface on the right allow us to easily read all the necessary navigation data, even while navigating at high speeds, while on the left, we find the control panel where we can select all the boat’s services.

Surprisingly, despite being on a RIB of not excessive dimensions, which might suggest otherwise, space at the bow is not lacking. The sofas of the MAR.CO E-Motion 32 provides comfortable accommodation for two people, while on the two tubulars, we find the always useful handrails, derived from the E-Motion 36, a modification that was requested by the customer inspired by the larger model. Notably, a solar panel is mounted on the T-Top to assist in battery charging.

Interior

MAR.CO E-Motion 32 has revolutionized the inflatable boat market, being the first 32-foot model to have a “disappearing” cabin not visible from the outside. When I go below deck, I realize that the shipyard doesn’t disappoint in attention to detail: the fabrics and finishes are top-notch, and the space is unexpectedly generous, with two portholes at each end of the hull, which, combined with the central porthole, make the cabin bright and airy. The separate bathroom, with sink and toilet, is of good size. In essence, you can spend several days on board this RIB without any issues and, if desired, even plan longer holidays.

Sea Trial

After thoroughly examining the details of this RIB, as it deserves, we’re finally ready to test the MAR.CO E-Motion 32. Lake Como today offers little sun, but fortunately, there’s no wind blowing, and the temperature is mild. We leave our mooring at Nautica Bolis, which has carried out the launch, and head out to open water to test the two Mercury 350 V10 Verado engines eagerly waiting behind us.

On board, there are two of us, and at 600 RPM, we reach a speed of 4 knots, with fuel consumption averaging around 8.4 L/h total. The calm waters allow us to quickly accelerate to feel the energetic thrust of the powerful outboards, bringing us to 3000 RPM in no time: at 16.5 knots, we are planing without the MAR.CO E-Motion 32 even raising its bow, and consuming just over 54 L/h overall. What’s astonishing is that signs of rolling are completely absent, and the 3.27-meter beam provides a lot of stability.

But we’re still not satisfied, and we want to push this RIB to its extreme limits. So, the RPM increases under our hand, pushing the throttle to the maximum of 6200 RPM: at this point, the gauge indicates an impressive 50.2 knots with fuel consumption of 236 L/h, leaving us amazed because the MAR.CO E-Motion 32 maintains its stability perfectly. Despite this high speed, the windshield and T-Top work excellently together to protect us from the wind and cold, to the point that my companion and I are chatting casually about the trim, previously managed by the Active Trim and disengaged when we started exceeding 30 knots.

During the turns I execute to cross my wake, the MAR.CO E-Motion 32 maintains its composure and shows no signs of stress. The hull and tubulars allow for very tight turns even at high speeds, effortlessly. We return to the mooring maintaining around 30 knots at 4000 RPM, and the comfort is remarkable, especially considering we’re traveling at a high speed with fuel consumption of 3.1 l/nm.

Mooring is very simple, also because the owner requested a bow thruster, which I obviously use to approach the dock without much effort. In conclusion, the excellent helm station, maximum visibility, onboard comfort, and superb build quality make the MAR.CO E-Motion 32 a high-level RIB.
