SANTA CLAUS HAS ALREADY LANDED IN MARINA DI VARAZZE

Marina di Varazze celebrates Christmas along its illuminated quays: mulled wine, panettoni, focaccia bread and a little gift for children. Last Friday December 16th, the magic of Christmas landed in Marina di Varazze in a warm festive atmosphere and we couldn’t miss it.

We breathed a real Christmas spirit of joy and collaboration shared by all the operators of the marina and the associations involved in this first special winter event.

A really unique nativity scene inside a beautiful illuminated caravel built by the boat-builder Rocco Bruzzone and decorated by the Friends of the Naval Museum of Varazze, the community Gruppo La Redancia and the Voluntary Association “Il Barattolo”.

Satisfied Liliana Molin Pradel, Marketing Manager of the Marina: “We started in a humble way without too high expectations and the great participation of the citizens and the Mayor of Varazze, together with the representatives of the Port Authority of Savona, surprised us in a period where the city is generally empty ”.

Great joy among the undisputed protagonists of the event, children, who received little bonnets, panettoni, pizzas and focaccia bread offered by some local restaurant owners.

The junior athletes of Varazze Yacht Club challenged the cold on their Optimist boats

Santa Claus’s arrival – directly from the sea on an illuminated small skiff – was very suggestive as well as the Sea torchlight procession organized Varazze Yacht Club, Lega Navale and the Recreational Fishing Association of Varazze. Fearless the junior athletes of the Varazze Yacht Club who faced darkness and cold on their illuminated Optimist boats.

Babbo Natale arriva tra i bimbi. Tantissimi i presenti alla Festa del Marina di Varazze.

The event was very successful – claimed Liliana Molin Pradel The most beautiful thing was to see a so active participation from all operators of the marina. This activity warmed our hearts and it will certainly replicated next year.

Finally, there was the inevitable Nativity Scene, of course. A really unique nativity scene, inside a wonderful illuminated caravel built by the boat-builder Rocco Bruzzone and decorated by the Friends of the Naval Museum of Varazze, in collaboration with the community La Redancia and the Voluntary Association “Il Barattolo”.

Some years ago, Rocco Bruzzone, boat-builder for 48 years, also restored the bow of Goletta Pandora, now renamed Goletta Liguria to promote the European projects in sea. The marina also hosted about 15 works of his.

The suggestive illuminates boats’ parade

But the events at Marina di Varazze continue. All is, in fact, set for the next 44 Cup race and winter championships, which will took place from next mid-January with a greater number of boats than last year: “We’re particularly happy because participation of boating operators constantly increases year by year. We worked hard to defeat a certain skepticism to collaborate and finally people have understood that we can be a beautiful team with lots of ideas and projects for the nautical community. A virtuous club which took and will continue to take great representatives of boating to Marina di Varazze”.
