The new outbords presented at the Exhibition of Düsseldorf yesterday by Mercury Marine will be available on the market next summer. They are a 40 hp and a 60 hp FourStroke SeaPro engines which represent not a new version of previous products but an essential update and an evidence of how Mercury always does its best in developping more enduring and reliable four-stroke engines for commercial applications. The new 40 and 60 hp engines enlarge the family of commercial Mercury Marine engines, which already includes 75,90,115 and 150 hp ones launched in 2015.
The new outbords are conceived for commercial uses: high size, reduced weight and an estimated life three times longer than amusement outbords.
Moreover, they offer an easy maintenance, low consumption, reliability and a longer life.
In order to increase life and reliability, Mercury has provided the new 40 and 60 hp FourStroke SeaPro engines with a supply pump adapted for commercial uses, systems of record-keeping for fly-wheel magnets, sturdier upper supports, a stainless thermostat and, only in some models, a gas-assisted trim cylinder.
New models also have a standard anodized driveshaft which allows good performances and a longer life, by preventing corrosion.
The increased foot by Mercury Marine, called Command Thrust, has a greater water intake for a better command of the boat; combined with larger propellers, it makes gliding easier even below maximum speed. The new SeaPro FourStroke models have a foot oil drainage inside the “torpedo” for a simpler oil change. Finally, Mercury Marine offers a more expanded guarantee than the traditional one and a good customer care service.
