Even before the beginning of the Miami Boat Show, scheduled for Thursday 16th February 2017, Boatandboats.com is already in Florida to start working overseas. Before discovering all the novelties of what is the most important nautical event in USA and one among the main boat shows in the world, our staff is already experiencing the first sea trials of the new models and accessories the most prestigious international brands will exhibited. The 2017 edition of the event presents some essential innovations.
The first one concerns the location. The 76th Miami International Boat Show has, in fact, moved from the Miami Beach Convention Centre to Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin.
In addition to this exhibition space, the Miami International Boat Show will also offer a large area exclusively reserved for sailboats. Called More Strictly Sail, this area will host 130 different models of sailboats (including some motor catamarans) in Miamarina, Bayside.
Both organizers and exhibitors have been very secretive and have issued just few statements about their novelties. Among the most interesting ones, we will certainly discover the new 60 Sunreef Power (Sunreef Yachts), a 18-metre motor cat; the new SV Yachts ALPHA, already advertised as “the fastest luxury yacht iun the world”; the new 15-metre Azimut 50, which promises to be the largest flybridge in its category.
The Commander 42 is a New England Lobster-style open boat, perfectly revealing Chris Craft‘s classic design details.
The enthusiasts of the typical Tiara Yachts‘ fisherman line won’t resist the new F53, the flagship of the Flybridge line: a 16-metre model featuring a sportive but balanced design, at least according to the first pictures, even if the rigid cover over the flybridge makes the superstructure very high.
Beneteau Yachts will present the new model of the Monte Carlo range, the 6S, always designed by Nuvolari & Lenard but with more sportive lines than the previous 6 thanks to an innovative hard top, equipped with an upper sun pad, which replaces the traditional fly bridge.
Finally, Sea Ray will present its new SLX 400, the new flagship of the SLX line, with an innovative cockpit which can be converted into a real island with a beach.
Organizers already talk about an “explosive” event: “The economic impact of our event – they say – is worth two Super Bowls. For 2017 we’ve estimated a 597-million-dollar return. About 100,000 people from 35 different countries are expected. The boat show plays an important role in the local economy: about 6,600 people work incessantly to organize the event which, in its turn, represents a great opportunity for the 55,000 nautical operators of Florida.
