SUMMIT 26: THE WOOD GEM OF THE MIAMI BOAT SHOW

MINNCRAFT: THE SUMMIT 26 IS THE WOODEN GEM OF THE MIAMI BOAT SHOW

The first boat built by the American Minncraft Boatworks shipyard is so beautiful that you can’t not turn around to look her. The Summit 26 is a wooden runabout in perfect ’60s style, reminiscent of a classic nautical era but enriched with a generous amount of contents and high-tech amenities and a particular metallic green colouring.

“Whether you want to sail open sea or stay in the deck, the spirit of our Summit 26 Runabout is to do that to the fullest. You know, luxury never makes compromises: it’s immortal”, Minnicraft Boatworks founder Rob Sheppard said.

” Our vision, our passion is to craft boats with classic lines and technological precision. A perfect combination of vintage and cutting-edge elements”.

Minncraft Boatworks boats are designed and built in the USA but they target customers of all around the world thanks to their ability to stand out amongst small open boats.

The Summit 26 astonishes for her high-quality specifications. Engine power, for example, is from a Mercruiser 5.7-litre V8 330 HP engine with multi-point electronic fuel injection and direct drive propulsion. The touchscreen control panel is incorporated into the console.

The design includes a hand-planked wood composite hull with white oak frames, cold molded bottom and sides with a solid mahogany and teak top layer and a blueprinted bottom.

Custom metal work and hand-laid teak complete the interesting design of this vintage gem.

Sheppard, who founded the shipyard in 2011, loves crafts and water. With an artistic approach, he merged these two passions with design with the necessary care and precision required by the meticulous construction process of a beautiful handmade wooden boat. Sheppard explains: ” our vision is to craft custom, completely hand-built wooden boats. Committed to building and launching limited edition hulls, our attention to detail will always be peerless. We offer our customers something no one else in the world does: a finely hand-crafted, custom designed, luxury runabout featuring the finest boatbuilding materials available, along with the integrated technology of iPad/smartphone automation”.

Moreover, the Summit 26 is equipped with a bronze rudder with no feedbacks on the steering wheel, a four-blade propeller, customized double-linkage engine control system and many electronic devices such as: a nine-inch Raymarine display for engine monitoring, digital switching and audio system; a customized seven-inch Raymarine monitor for sailing monitoring; an embedded iPad and IPad Mini control system; a Rockford Fosgate stereo amplifier and a nine-speaker sound system.
