MONTE CARLO YACHTS LAUNCHES THE NEW MCY 80

The MCY 80 represents the most recent production of the Monte Carlo Yachts at the Miami International Boat Show. The seventh among the models proposed by the group and the sixth made in the six years of the life of the yard, the sizes of this 24-foot model place it exactly in the middle of the range made in Monfalcone, Italy, that goes from 65 to 105 feet, between the MCY 76 and MCY 86.

Officially presented at the Cannes Yacht Festival last September, this fly bridge stands out for its character and personality.

“Don’t call it dream, call it vision,” said Carla Demaria, President of Monte Carlo Yachts.  “Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others – continued De Maria – and to achieve results this vision must be transformed into a strategy and then translated into an action plan. For the MCY 80, we say that 80 is our new goal, and I think this is a motto that reflects the modus operandi of Monte Carlo Yachts very well.”

And the American presence is preparatory to this result, as noted by Federico Peruccio, Marketing and Communication Manager of Monte Carlo Yachts: “One of the salient features of the MCY 80, which I’m sure will meet the approval of the American market, is its enormous customization level. We are convinced that this model embodies our philosophy at its best”.

With the exteriors designed by the successful creative talents Nuvolari and Lenard, the yacht stands out for some innovative solutions, at least on this type of boat. As, for example, the Portuguese deck, that is a protected walkway close to the superstructure and separated by the front part of the bow triangle through a dodger.

All the exterior spaces of the last member of the MCY family are worthy of a note. The flybridge, for example, is a real outdoor saloon which can be shaded in its more convivial area, equipped with dining table, kitchen, sofas and a mobile cover following the model of the soft-top sports cars. The aft part of this raised area is dedicated to relax in the sun and equipped with two chaises longues; even a jacuzzi tub can be added.

Equally interesting is the large fore space equipped with two large semicircular seats which serve both as a sofa for the two crescent tables and a boundless sun pad. In short, it’s a yacht designed for those who want to enjoy sea closely.

Inside, the yacht proposes the idea of contact with outside, allowing natural light to flood every space through the large windows located on the superstructure and along bulwarks, portholes in all the rooms on the lower floor and the two large and distinctive circular windows at the height of the master cabin.

The research of style and elegance is also evident in the choice of materials, such as oak walkways, leather and stone decorations, and furniture suppliers: Hermès, Armani Casa and Minotti.

The layout is traditional. The main deck is entirely dedicated to living, with a lounge at the entrance of the cockpit and a more advanced dining zone. The pilot station is hidden by a sliding panel.

The lower deck hosts three guest cabins, a fore Vip cabin and a master one, in addition to crew quarters (for three people) with direct access to the engine room, and a galley.
