Ocean Alexander: 8 new superyachts delivered

Ocean Alexander, a Taiwanese company with shipyards in Taiwan and the United States, has delivered 8 yachts between April and June this year. These figures give an idea of the leading role of this yachting player, which ranks fourth in the world in terms of superyacht production. Ocean Alexander (OA) has an extensive presence on the New Continent with two dealers in Australia in Brisbane and Perth; another couple of dealers are based in San Diego and Seattle, while the North Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico have a total of 13 dealers all under Ocean Alexander. The founder of the Asian company in the late 1970s was Taipei-born Alex Chueh. In 2009, the Taiwanese company began a partnership with Christensen Shipyards for the production of the DREAM WEAVER. As for the target market, Ocean Alexander mainly produces yachts for a 70 per cent American clientele.

The first of the 8 beautiful yachts sold was the 28 Meter Revolution: “The buyer was impressed with the fantastic layout, design and build quality” – explains the Miami-based dealer – I think there were many factors such as the sheer volume of the 28R and the breathtaking view on the master deck (…)”. Another important delivery was that of the Ocean Alexander 36L, a true “tri-deck” with five  wonderful staterooms commissioned by an owner with a passion for the Bahamas. Mike Doyle, based at MarineMax Pompano, completed the sale and delivery of another 28 Meter Revolution: “The new design direction of OA, the local dedicated service they offer, along with the support of Marine Max in the Fort Lauderdale area, were very strong reasons for this buyer to choose Ocean Alexander”, he said.

Another successful sale was the 32 Meter Legend, handled by Michael Tyrrell, who explained how the owner, a nuclear engineer, appreciated “the excellent engineering and OA’s brand integrity. His wife fell in love with the elegance, quality, and spacious interior design of the yacht“.

Ocean Alexander in Australia

The fourth sale handled by Alexander Marine Australia involved a 26 Meter Revolution: “The buyer was overwhelmed with the combination of space, luxury, and sea-worthiness of this 84’ yacht”. The next sale was completed by MarineMax Wrightsville Beach (North Carolina) with a unique transaction that came together in a surprising fashion. The buyers joined his brother, a current OA owner, for the 2021 East Coast OA Rendezvous at Atlantis in April. There, they not only got to see a variety of OA yachts, but also got to mix and mingle with other happy owners. Over the following days, there was a steady flow of information back and forth by both parties as the excitement built. The delivery of the longest model in the Revolution range was completed by Robertson who commented on the sale of the first hull as follows: “It was an honor to have the opportunity to work with the Zeigler family during the construction of hull #1 of the new 35R Ocean Alexander. This was a very detailed custom project, and the Ocean Alexander team were absolutely amazing to deal with. They made this a great experience for the buyers from weekly progress photos to very detailed answers and drawings to all of our questions and custom requests“. Hull 2 of the 35R will debut to the world at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
