The new 62-foot-boat Bénéteau is up to launch isn’t a new model of the classic Oceanis line, one of the most popular models by the French shipbuilder, but it’s the first boat of a new range, called Oceanis Yacht, which introduces two important changes in Bénéteau megayachts: an industrial approach, with the aim to reduce cost in luxurious boats production, and a collaboration with motorboats designers in order to introduce new design and comfort elements.
Motorboating design is clear in the new hull, especially in the bow design, with an about 3-metre-tender garage and a very big bathroom platform. When the platform is down, you can enter into the cockpit through two ladders which are very similar to those ones on motorboats.
Moreover, a rigid hood can be installed to cover the cockpit and there are many spaces to relax on the deck and the deckhouse, completely surrounded by portholes. There are also lots of portholes along the walls, partially hidden by a black stripe running all around the hull.
One of the main purposes of Bénéteau is to keep costs low in the new Oceanis Yacht Line. Consequently, they have created a production line which reduces production costs with a new construction model already used for 40 and 50′ boats.
The final price of an Oceanis Yacht 62′ will be about 600,000 Euros,VAT excluded. The price will include a lot of luxury services and many possibilities of customization. To do that, Bénéteau wants to allow to future shipowners to meet builders at some locations in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and USA.
The first Oceanis Yacht 62′ is supposed to be launched shortly before sea trials and the official presentation at the exhibitions of Cannes and Annapolis (USA).
