Oryx 379 LifestyleWalking through the Cannes Yachting Festival, we couldn’t help but notice the new Oryx 379. The last creation by Gulf Craft is definitively beautiful and bad.

The already taut hull lines are made even more aggressive by some longitudinal windows which, in addition to flood the lower deck with an incredible amount of natural light, also make the side view of this day cruiser quite eye-catching.

The inclination of the frame supporting the T-Top and its black-painted tubes returns an overall image that suggests the real intentions of the Oryx 379.

In the presence of such a sporty and particular look, we could not avoid taking a tour on board this boat to find out more.

Approaching the stern, Oryx 379 at seawe are welcomed by three black Mercury Pro XS engines that unquestionably confirm the adrenaline vocation of this concept. With a maximum power of 900HP, the Oryx 379, indeed, promises to reach a top speed of 48 knots.

After all, we only need to climb on board and get the center console to notice the presence of two seats of clearly sporty derivation. Adjustable in height and distance from the steering wheel, amortized and swivel, they dominate a cockpit of unusual beauty for a boat of this size.

A size that allows to house two maxi displays as well as (amazing) some analog instruments and many electronic devices. The result is a dashboard that to define as complete and functional would be an understatement.

The rest of the boat, clearly dedicated to open-air moments, develops around the console. The bow, thanks to the walk-around design of the deck plan, houses a large sun pad with front seating.

The stern, instead, accommodates an additional sun pad which delimits the access to the stern platform on one side and marks the border of the exterior cockpit on the other. This area is characterized by a L-shaped sofa for 4-5 people surrounding a table which, when open, gives enough room for outdoor dining. The conviviality of this area is further enhanced by the possibility to rotate the two helm seats which, this way, become an integral part of the outdoor lounge.

Oryx 379 Interiors

Going down the stairs leading to the lower deck, we are welcomed by a large loft. On the left, the galley is fully equipped and positioned next to a large sofa that occupies the whole bow section. Here, passengers can have dinner or obtain an additional cabin with an extraordinarily large bed.

The master cabin is positioned under the cockpit and accessible from the floor level. Separated from the rest of the open space by a blind, it has a headroom that allows to seat on the mattress and sleep without having any claustrophobia symptoms.

The large bathroom is equipped with a separate shower and completes the layout of a day cruiser that, when needed, can also be used for short-range cruising.
