Outremer has always designed and manufactured fast and extremely safe ocean cruising catamarans designed for long and comfortable cruising. At the Cannes show, we had the chance to climb aboard the two models the shipyard displayed during this event: the OUTREMER 52 and the OUTREMER 55.
Blue water cruising
Outremer catamarans are renowned for their elegant and essential design, sail efficiency, high performance, and attention to detail in furnishings and interiors. The two models on display at Cannes fully represent the DNA of this legendary shipyard.
Outremer 52
The successor to the legendary Outremer 51, Outremer 52 combines the strengths of its predecessor with the innovations and redesigned look of the Outremer 55 ( awarded with the famous prize in 2022). Outremer 52 is a catamaran with exceptional seaworthiness designed for ocean cruising. With this new model, the shipyard offers the opportunity to sail on a vessel that combines unprecedented levels of performance and comfort.
15, 73 meters of absolute solidity, and an innovative technology developed by the Gunboat shipyard (also a member of the Grand Large Yachting Group) that has reduced the weight of the structure while maintaining unaltered strength. This has allowed for increased glass surfaces and openings in the boat, wherever they are placed in the salon or cockpit, there is increased visibility and visibility at sea, you know, is synonymous with safety.
The salon berth, designed in a forward direction, allows, for example, to check the outside during nights.
Outremer 52 is a bright boat with living spaces ideal for long voyages. Fully open windows allow for easy movement. The galley worktop is open to the interior and exterior spaces of the catamaran.

Outremer 55
The shipyard’s flagship Outremer 55 is easy to handle, whether with a small crew or single-handed, and offers new standard-setting living spaces, ergonomics, light and ventilation. At 16.73 meters long, this new OUTREMER further enhances the pleasure of long cruising with distinctly unique spaces.
Life-changing innovations on long voyages, tilting rudders to combine steering pleasure, visibility and perfect protection in all conditions. Whether you want to enjoy the view of the water and sails, comfortably seated on the double bench, or protect yourself from the elements in the cockpit, you will always have full control of the boat. With a comfortable bench on each side, standing bunks in a central position, or even sitting in the shelter of the cockpit, there is a preferred driving position for everyone!
The 360-degree view from the salon and cockpit provides exceptional visibility of the sea and surroundings. Working on a new model is also an opportunity to renovate and further enhance performance.
Just put a foot on the aft platform of an OUTREMER catamaran to feel the call of the sea and the ocean, the allure of long sailings where time does not matter.
