Pardo GT52, the debut of a versatile, futuristic yacht

Pardo GT52, the latest project from Pardo Yachts, is finally in the water and ready to fulfil every wish. The world debut of this futuristic boat took place from April 22-24 during a special event in Saint Tropez that Cantiere del Pardo organized specifically to present its novelty to the public along with all the other yachts in the Pardo family. Alongside the new Pardo GT52, guests were able to admire the walkaround range (Pardo 38, 43 and 50) and the Endurance 60 live, in a three-day event that saw the complete Pardo Yachts fleet displayed for the first time in history.

“Pardo GT52 is positioned between the Walkaround and Endurance ranges, targeting a segment of owners looking for even more liveable and comfortable volumes than current walkaround models, but without sacrificing performance,” explain Pardo Yachts. In this new 52-foot motor yacht, the design factor is central, with a hull with futuristic lines and the inverted bow typical of the family, and in which the central element is the continuity between interiors and exteriors: windows towards the stern that rise upwards, a stern door that can be fully opened and a roof in semi-open mode. In fact, the innovative concept of the Pardo GT52 arose from the idea of creating a convivial boat that could best connect the interior with the exterior. Moreover, the spaces have been completely rearranged compared to previous models and offer a wider cockpit usability, with a dinner area and extended sunbathing areas.

The architecture of the Pardo GT52 allows a choice of two layouts: galley up (with a lounge area with TV or a third cabin with a bunk bed at lower deck level) or galley down (with an even larger dinette and an even better equipped galley below deck for even more seasonal use). “It is stimulating to imagine life aboard the Pardo GT52 considering these two layout options in the living area,” comments Massimo Gino of Nauta Design. “On the one hand the solution with a large galley close to the guests in the cockpit and with a large relaxation area with TV on the lower deck, on the other hand a super-equipped galley and a very large dinette lounge on the main deck.”

The interiors of the Pardo GT52, as on every one of the boatyard’s yachts, are designed to provide an experience between comfort and functionality and to cope with long stays even with guests on board. In fact, every square centimetre has been designed to offer the habitability typical of a luxury flat, starting from the master cabin with an increased volume and rotated with the head of the bed oriented on the side to guarantee better circulation in the cabin, connected to a large head with a shower box forward.

As far as exteriors are concerned, these give absolute priority to relaxation areas: on the GT52, three people can be comfortably accommodated on the bow sundeck, to which a further eight can be added in the aft area seated around the dining table, which can be converted into a second sundeck. Also in the aft area, the bridge is 60 cm longer than that of the Pardo 50, allowing the owner to store, launch and retrieve the tender or jet ski thanks to a practical electrical system. These are design choices that underline the attention paid to the space made available to guests, as Zuccheri Yacht Design confirms: “The hull of the Pardo GT52 is an evolution of that of the Pardo 50, with which it also shares the Volvo Penta IPS engine (2×650 in the standard version, or 2×700/800 as an optional extra). But apart from this choice, the two models have substantial differences in terms of internal volume, weight distribution and centre of gravity. The GT52 has the engines moved more towards the stern to give more space to the cabin floor: the engine room and main weights have been completely revised to balance the boat as best as possible, despite the changes made. The hydrodynamics have been revised, taking into account the greater weight given by the significantly wider cabin floor and the enclosed superstructure, as well as the larger interior furnishings compared to the Pardo 50”.

Cantiere del Pardo also has an eye on the environmental sustainability towards which the entire yachting sector is turning. The engine room of the GT52 is in fact already prepared to receive the Volvo hybrid engine upgrade, a solution that will soon guarantee performance with the lowest possible impact on the marine ecosystem.
