A classic for all sailors in Western Liguria, the Patti Gandini Cup will take place on April 9th-10th. It’s the 14th edition, with a formula combining competition with attention to marine environment matters. The cup takes its name from Patrizia Gandini, a sailorwoman and a regatta and offshore sailing teacher from Milan but Ligurian by adoption. The aim is to combine emotion and fun in the sign of competitiveness in order to propose a pleasant way to live the sea and meet some experts who can teach the correct techniques to become good sailors.
Organised by Veladoc, the competition is dedicated to ORC International and ORC Club’s tonnage boats. In the free class, any bulb boat can participate with the possibility to choose among Racing category or, for those who have a quieter and more recreational approach, Cruising category. Monotype boats, too, can compete on reaching five boats per class at least. The competition, on the buoys camp in the Gulf of Sanremo, will see some of the best teams of Western Liguria and Cote d’Azur.
For all participants, moorings will be available from April 6th to 10th and the days will be full of events: the cup will be won by the boat which will reach the first place of the most numerous class. The first three boats of each class will receive some awards, too.
