Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport: power and character

The Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport is an inflatable boat that’s truly accessible to everyone, as it can perform well with just a 40-horsepower engine, which doesn’t require a boating license. The smallest model in the range, it features a significant beam of 2.55 meters. With its 60 cm tubes, it appears larger than it actually is.

The Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport in detail

Despite being just six meters long, the Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport features two sunbathing areas: a full-beam sundeck at the bow and a second area that is created by reclining the backrest of the stern sofa. The sunbathing area is spacious both in length and width. Additionally, the stern sofa can be converted into a dining area by simply unfolding the teak table located behind the helm seat. This RIB has important features and is particularly versatile in use.

At the stern, there is no shortage of space, and the shipyard has installed an intelligent Roll Bar that can accommodate a bimini to shade the center of the boat. The central seat, designed for two people, is functional and allows for good maneuverability while leaving two spacious walkways to the bow. By flipping the cushion of the seat, you can access a space that can be set up as a galley.

The Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport has also ample storage space. Under the stern sofa, there is a very spacious locker, and at the bow, beneath the cushions, there is another locker that extends across the entire surface of the sunbathing area. In short, this inflatable boat is fully equipped for a day outing.

RANIERI CAYMAN 19 Sport Sea Trial

The sea in this area is enchanting, and having a RIB at your disposal only increases the desire to explore and discover bays and inlets for a swim.

Equipped with a SUZUKI ARI 40 HP RR engine, which features a special anti-corrosion treatment to protect it from corrosive agents like seawater, thus enhancing its durability, it is the most performance-oriented, fast, and responsive outboard in its category that doesn’t require a license. We leave the ropes on the floating dock and begin our test with 80% fuel and two people on board. The sea has slight ripples with short waves and a wind of about 10 knots from the shore.

I move away from the shore with the throttle slightly lowered; the engine is at 2000 RPM, and at a speed of 5 knots, we consume 2.6 l/h. I increase the speed, and at 9.5 knots with 3800 RPM, the boat gets up on plane, with a consumption of 7 l/h. Exciting and highly maneuverable, I push the throttle and reach maximum speed quickly—5500 RPM, 21 knots, and the trim is still stable. The ride is secure, and by adjusting the trim, I can further stabilize my course. The Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport leaves a clean wake and displaces little water. I slightly reduce the speed to 4500 RPM, reaching 16 knots, and try to make tight turns and counter-turns while increasing the throttle during maneuvers. The boat remains well-positioned, and we stay dry on board.

As I head towards the dock, the wind from the shore has increased to about 18 knots, but the Ranieri Cayman 19 Sport remains highly maneuverable, without excessive pitching.
