A clear view aboard is a good thing, especially at night, when it is foggy or visibility is not good. Radars and thermal cameras can give an hand in all these situations. These tools are more and more technologically advanced and easy-to-use. The new  Raymarine Quantum CHIRP radar and Ocean Scout TK thermal camera are light, cheap and very simple to use and install. High technology for anyone.

Quantum CHIRP is a friendly intuitive tool which uses the CHIRP impulse compression technology for very clear target pictures. Compared to the traditional magreton radars, this device offers a higher quality. The CHIRP technology allows in fact to identify both near and fast targets. The integrated eleboration of Quantum removes sea and rain disturb echoes automatically, it blocks interferences coming from some other radars, while guaranteeing easy-to-interpret pictures with no noise and even in very crowded waters.

Installation is very simple. with no radar cables or interface boxes required. Once the power supply wires have been linked, the integrated wi-fi system can communicate with any multifunction display equipped with Raymarine Light House II.

The product is available at official Raymarine retailers from 1,495.000 Euros, VAT excluded. 

A thermal camera is a more and more appreciated tool by sailors. Simple to use, cheap and with high performances. Its skill to record pictures through the heat detection makes it a precious tool in all situations when visibility is low.

Ocean Scout TK can intercept any obstacle, object or person up to 119 metres: boats, buoys, fish, coastal structures, harbour entrances and any other object is received from the camera which can record up to 1000 pictures and memorize thermal videos. It uses some litium batteries and it has a 5-hour-autonomy.

Made by Flir/Raymarine, Ocean Scout TK is pocket-sized, it weighes only 170 gr and it can communicate with any Raymarine device.
