F.lli Razeto & Casareto again this year at METS in Amsterdam with important novelties: smart lighted handles and antimicrobial handles.
The marine accessories exhibition in Amsterdam has come to an end and, like every year, the METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) attracted exhibitors from all over the world.
The Italian company F.lli Razeto & Casareto, an international leader in marine fittings and accessories for doors and on-board furniture, took an active part in METS. With a truly impressive history of attendance at the event that has continued for more than 30 years, the company exhibited two innovations this year: the antimicrobial handle and the intelligent luminous handle.
Already presented at the Genoa Show and at the recent Hamburg Show, these two handles are no longer simple accessories, but real systems. Let’s see them in detail:
Razeto & Casareto launches Centenario, the health-safe handle
The anti-microbial handle is the result of an inspiration from the past, in fact, it derives from the anti-vibration handle that was on the Cristoforo Colombo, a training ship of the Italian Navy for the training of officer cadets. It has been reproduced in this new guise, the Centenario, with an antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal finish, also tested and certified by Rina against the Coronavirus.
The new finish adapts to the present time and to the requirements that, after the Coronavirus pandemic, must be used in terms of cleanliness and healthcare safety.
This handle system, developed with Esi Antimicrobial System, has emitters containing two types of ions. These ions, released into the air, create an ion cloud that forms an environment in which it is impossible to contaminate the surface of the handle. After a 15-second exposure to the pathogens, at a distance of 3 cm from the handle surface, the viral load is reduced by 87.3%.
F.lli Razeto & Casareto is the exclusive distributor of this system, which was originally created to kill bad odours inside nautical or household furniture, but which, given the changed requirements after Covid, has also found another very effective area of application.
OSSH: the smart luminous handle
In addition to the Centenario handle, F.lli Razeto & Casareto at the METS in Amsterdam presented the new intelligent luminous handle, which, as we mentioned before, is not a banal handle. It is a real luminous access system, which communicates dangers through the different light colours.
The information that can be conveyed through the different types of lights is differentiated according to the area of use. For example, on a ship, the use of the colours red and green can indicate whether an emergency fire door is safe to use or not. On yachts, on the other hand, the information given, has a more generic on-board safety character, for example, in the bathroom an orange light will flash in the event of danger, so that even if the guests have not heard the alarm siren, they understand that there is a real emergency thanks to the colour of the light.
With the LED traffic light, it is also possible to signal whether a room is accessible or not: a very useful feature in the case of sanitisation by staff.
Participation at METS
In general, the company F.lli Razeto & Casareto, which has been producing and developing locks and handles for more than 100 years, says it is pleased with its annual participation in the METS in Amsterdam.
The exhibition is in fact the only one entirely dedicated to nautical accessories and is therefore very representative for the company, also helping it to increase sales.
This event, where accessories are the real protagonists, is an unmissable appointment for the F.lli Razeto & Casareto company, which for three generations has been involved in inventing and building solutions for access and fittings with a turnover that is divided exactly in half between recreational boating and ships.
