Razeto e Casareto: the art of handles lands at MetsTrade

The innovation and design of the boat handles that have made Fratelli Razeto e Casareto famous worldwide have once again taken centre stage at the Metstrade in Amsterdam. The Italian company showcased all its art at the Dutch exhibition, participating for the 33rd time (out of a total of 35 editions) in the world’s most important B2B exhibition dedicated to marine supplies and sub-supplies, held from November 15 to 17. An assiduity that underlines the international vocation of Fratelli Razeto e Casareto, which for over a hundred years has specialized in the production of technical marine hardware and on-board handles for boats, yachts, superyachts and commercial vessels.

More specifically, the company showcased its products at hall 12, inside the Italian Pavilion organized by Confindustria Nautica, the Italian Marine Industry Association. The products offered to the public of professionals at METS were the two handles of the OSSH line, top of the range in terms of technology and design. The first was the Oblò handle which, the result of a collaborative project with Bernardo and Martina Zuccon of the Zuccon International Project studio, had already been presented at the 63rd Genoa International Boat Show. The second handle was the Quadraled, entirely designed in-house by Giangi Razeto, head of development and research at F.lli Razeto e Casareto. Quadraled blends in with the material elements of the door, and is revealed by the presence of light provided by 40 rgb leds, activated by the aforementioned management and emergency functions.

Both the Oblò and Quadraled feature the OSSH network, a Fratelli Razeto e Casareto exclusive integrated system, which provides smart access control using the lights on the handles, capable of communicating management, hotellerie and security services (blackout, emergency) to guests and crew. Moreover, both handles include the ESI Antimicrobial System, an innovative complex metal cluster that continuously emits Ag+ silver and other ions, yet chemical-free.

The ion emission, without any energy source required, exerts an antimicrobial action on objects and in the environment, continuously and safely disinfecting the treated surface so that it is impervious to fungi, bacteria and viruses. It is a system certified by no less than three university faculties (University of Genoa, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, University of Siena) as well as by the authoritative body Rina in compliance with Biosafe SHIP Class notation with reference to high-use surfaces.

Last but not least, the Oblò handle was awarded the Design Innovation Award during the Genoa Boat Show 2023, while the Quadraled handle was selected for the Adi Design Index 2023, edited by the Permanent Observatory of Design, and is currently in the running to compete for the Compasso d’Oro, one of the most prestigious design awards in Italy. Two awards that certify the extreme quality of the research and development work carried out by Razeto e Casareto.
