Riva 88 Folgore: first sportfly of the future launched

Riva 88 Folgore, the first yacht by Ferretti Group presented in 2020

The first impact with the Riva 88 Folgore, launchlatest Riva masterpiece can only be dazzling, and not only because this is the first impression suggested by the name of the newly launched creature.

Riva 88′ Folgore: that’s the name of the new sportfly forged by the famous Italian brand which also marks the first launch of a new Riva model since the Coronavirus outbreak began.

First presented last January, the superyacht has perfectly respected the expected production times and was launched in on May 25 in La Spezia, where one of the six Ferretti Group’s Italian headquarters dedicated to the manufacture of Riva-branded models from 76 to 110 feet is based.

Featuring sleek, modern and “unabashedly” aggressive lines, the Riva 88′ Folgore is inspired by the avant-garde elements of the automotive world, representing a successful combination of luxury culture and sportiness.

Futuristic exteriors and a new stern concept

Riva 88 Folgore, launch In perfect balance between past and Riva 88 Folgore, bowpresent, the exterior layout combines the use of innovative materials, such as carbon, with traditional stylistic features, such as mahogany inlays and steel decorations.

Futuristic design and functionality are the main characteristics of the design of this boat waiting to be discovered.

First of all, on board the 88′ Folgore, the stern concept is completely overturned, giving the owner the possibility to install a garage door that swings open to sit in two different positions: parallel to the waterline, to take advantage from a 6-square-meter beach club, or immersed in the water to launch and retrieve the tender.

The cockpit is an ode to space and comfort: with a surface of 22 square meters, it offers a huge sofa, a table and a bar unit with an electrically opening marble top.

Another elegant and innovative accessory is the glass hardtop on the superstructure, which opens up and can be tilted toward both the stern and bow to allow a fresh breeze into the boat during navigation or at anchor.

Deeply renewed in style, the spaces below deck were all made with precious materials, such as mahogany, steel, marble and crystal, and offer various custom options, including three different layouts for the master cabin.

The night area is completed by a VIP cabin in the bow and two double cabins, each with private bathroom.

The galley is separated from the other areas and is accessed via a dedicated entrance, guaranteeing the upmost service privacy.

Riva 88’ Folgore looks like a boat just back from a journey into the future: she is a dazzling flash of style, she is strength, she is performance, she is innovationFerretti Group Chief Executive Alberto Galassi said – the launch of the first new model in 2020 represents a new Renaissance for the Ferretti Group, which restarts from Riva, brand becoming more and more a contemporary myth, the essence of Made in Italy and a tangible sign of a country that starts again.”

Like all Riva models in recent history, the 88′ Folgore is the result of the collaboration between Officina Italian Design, the studio founded by Mauro Micheli along with Sergio Beretta, the Product Strategy Committee headed by Engineer Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
