“Riva announces the building of a new flagship of its flybridge fleet, the Riva 110“.
This simple announcement is enough to excite all those who follow boating , its past and current history with passion. This is just because Riva represents the “history” of Italian boating like “Ferrari” is the history of Italian motoring.
The shipyard was founded in Sarnico, on Lake Iseo, in 1842 by Pietro Riva but the first activity related to the construction and repair of working boats even dates back to his grandfather, Giovanni, on Lake Como in the late 18th century. Thanks to Pietro’s descendants, the shipyard became first the symbol of the Italian “Dolce Vita” and elegant luxury at the service of movie stars, successful businessmen (such as Agnelli, for example) and even royals; then, an extraordinary exponent of the Italian Style when, for some Italian shipyards, recreational boating flourished and started to aspire to a presence in the global markets and the creation of more increasingly ambitious products.
In its centenary history, Riva has managed to become a globally recognized synonymous of Italian style and beauty especially thanks to its special care of every detail and the innovative nature of its creations. The new Riva 110 is not an exception.
The flagship of the new flybridge range after the Corsaro 100, the Riva 110 will be presented next autumn. The first renderings already reveal a superyacht of a unprecedented style. The boat is impressive. However, the alternation between the white hull and bridge structure and the dark shades of windows, superstructures, anchor, rollbar and bridge windscreen makes lines very sleek.
It’s difficult to explain in few words how Officina Italiana Design, which has been the main Riva boats’ designer since early ’90s, managed to create a wonderful example of the best Made in Italy but the Riva 110 immediately presents herself as a thoroughbred.
The flybridge extends from the middle of the boat up to the astern sofa in the cockpit. The two areas are accessible through a stairway located on the starboard side. The stern hosts a sundeck with modular furniture arrangement while a cocktail bar, an informal launch area and an additional helm station are located forward, under the top. The hard top is enriched with an amazing crystal skylight. Moreover, the flybridge is linked to the foredeck through a side door which creates an uninterrupted space like a real main deck. The space is dominated by a C-shaped sofa opposite a centrepiece sunpad.
On the main deck, the small living room in the cockpit is liked to an inner central zone, a huge open space surrounded by side windows and hosting a formal sitting room. The view on the sea is breath-taking and it is not interrupted by any piece of furniture. The central zone serves to regulate the flow of crew and guests by keeping their circulation routes separate. To the left is access to the guest area below deck and the main deck master suite. To the right is access to the helm station, the galley and the below-deck crew cabins.
The lower deck hosts four VIP double cabins, all equipped with a beauty table and an en-suite bathroom. The crew zone is separated and situated forward while the engine room is accessed via the left-hand side of the cockpit, passing first
The Riva 110 will have a couple of MTU 16V series 2000 M94 engines, each outputting 2638 mhp. With this engine setup, the yacht is expected to reach a cruising speed of 23 knots and a maximum speed of 26 knots.
