When two iconic brands of the Made in Italy like Riva and Abarth come together into a joint creative effort, the potential result is the expression of a historic synthesis, or rather the essence of all the ideas, experiences and passions that have been enlivened the complex vitality of the two brands for years.
This synthesis is expressed by a single word: Rivale. That’s in fact the name that connects the two manufacturers by creating an alliance of excellences. The new ’56 Rivale is indeed the latest jewel of Riva’s fleet and the Abarth 695 Rivale is the last creation of the limited series of the carmaker.
Abarth has wanted to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Riva with a new “jewel”: the new 695 Special and Limited Edition that is highly inspired by the new Riva’s ’56 Rivale in terms of style, engineering skills, stylistic wisdom and design ability. A perfect combination that is part of both Abarth and Rivas’ DNA and that has inevitably characterized the entire story of the two brands.
The new ’56 Rivale is an open yacht with very sporty lines and a completely new hull. In addition to great craftsmanship and considerable attention to the detail, what makes this boat really exclusive is the stylish combination of very fine materials, from the glossy mahogany of the interiors to the natural teak of the exteriors, from the lacquered finishes and stainless steel to mirrors, crystal and leather.
The new gem of the Sarnico-based shipyard is powered by two MAN 1000 hp or two MAN 1200 hp engines with V-Drive inboards. With the standard motorization, the ’56 Rivale reaches a cruising speed of 31 knots and a top speed of 35 knots; with the 1200 hp engines, cruising and maximum speed become 34 and 38 knots respectively.
The Abarth 695 Rivale is named “175 Anniversary” because only 175 coupés and 175 cabriolets will be built.
In this extraordinary product, too, craftsmanship is the main player. From the black-and-blue hand-stitched leather seats to the carbon silk-screen-printed dashboard, everything is the expression of the great craftsmanship that has always been the hallmark of the Abarth world, now perfectly combined with extreme design and engineering skills.
Powered with 180 hp engines and with 250nm of torque and an excellent weight/power ratio (5.8 kg/ hp with a mass of 1,045 kg), this supercar can reach a top speed of 225 km/h and an acceleration of 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds.
“The celebrations for the 175th anniversary of Riva are being complemented by the unique partnership with an evoking brand such as Abarth” claimed Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. ” Presenting the 56’ Rivale, an iconic name in the history of Riva which today identifies the new open – a charming, technological and powerful boat – means paying homage to our past while looking firmly into the future. Abarth was inspired by the extraordinary new Riva boat in designing its new special and limited edition model: the wonderful 695 Rivale. The partnership springs from common shared values, passion for excellence and research for performance, expressed as always with an unmistakably unique style.”
As symbols of the ultimate Italian know-how, the ’56 Rivale and the Abarth 695 Rivale represent a perfect combination of craftsmanship and engineering, exciting performance and passion for beauty along with the appreciable ambition to make dreams come true.
