The Rodman 38 Fly
When thinking about a 12-meter flybridge model with good performance and an overall nice appearance, we can’t help but think about the Rodman 38.
Fitted with a particularly seaworthy hull, she can be found on the market at variable prices ranging from 100,000 and 190,000 euros. The shipyard is still active and enjoys a very good reputation, especially for its building quality and the experience in the sector of IPS engines.
Within just 12 meters,
The bow section is accessible from the side-decks which, despite being very wide, are protected by a rail which is high enough to give a great sense of safety. This area can even be equipped with additional cushions in order to obtain a comfortable sun pad.
The aft cockpit is deep enough to accommodate a table and some seats for outdoor dining. From the left, you can easily reach the bow or the flybridge through a classic staircase. The stern platform is normal-sized and can house all bathing activities in total comfort.
The master cabin is positioned in the bow and features a queen-size bed surrounded by high-level cabinet-making finishes. The other cabin, instead, is twin-bedded and, equipped with a spacious central walkway, offers definitely abundant spaces to the guests or to their children.
The main deck accommodates the interior helm station, the galley, a U-shaped sofa and a linear couch facing each other which can seat 6-8 people in total comfort.
The manufacturing quality of the interiors is definitely above the range. The use of solid wood and rounded surfaces is extensive.
Depending on her year of production, the Rodman 38 Fly can be powered by two IPS or two, more traditional, shaft drive engines. Power ranges from 2 x 310 to 2 x 370 HP and makes this yacht sail at excellent cruising speeds.
As mentioned above, the price of the Rodman 38 Fly is extremely variable and not only because of her year of production. One of the factors to be taken into account, for example, is the list of the options available. Many models, in fact, are fully-equipped and fitted with a submersible platform, a generator and air conditioning. The teak cockpit and its conservation status are two other important factors.
Needless to underline that the presence of IPS engines is an element which, while raising the purchase cost, guarantees a higher value over time.
