New Sacs Rebel 47 was moored in Portofino, where Sacs has organised Maxi Rib Lounge, a two-weekend event in collaboration with Lomac, Magazzù and Tecnorib which have preferred a more specific event to Genoa International Boat Show.
Rebel 47 is a completely new product: a maxi rib with fiberglass sides and handrails. As Andrea Loro, Sales Manager of Sacs, told us “we took the best of both a rib and a boat. Over the last few years, Sacs has focused on bigger models (18-20 metres long), often used as superyacht tenders or daily chase boats. Rebel is conceived as a well-sheltered comfortable maxi rib”.
In Portofino, we tested Sacs Relel 47 Limousine (we’ll publish the complete sea trial soon) you can see in the photos, pushed by 2 Vovo D6 400 Hp motors. We reached almost 37 knots. The cockpit, the fore and astern sunbathing surfaces and the chaises lounges are large and comfortable. “For the owner of a luxury tender, two 400 Hp outboards are more than enough – says Andrea Loro – but if you prefer, you can choose 2x 550 HP outboards for a top speed of 50 knots”
Sacs Rebel 47 uses the same dynamic and safety features than a maxi rib but with the same spaces and design of a cruiser boats. Tubulars are, in fact, made of a closed-cellar foam, a anti-explosion and anti-collision plastic external cover and neoprene. This way, tubulars can go along with the boat’s lines and use only their external active part, while all the rest is converted into space.
