Bowrider boats are not particularly appreciated in Italy, especially because of the two cockpits which oblige to renounce to a small fore cabin. But, as proved by Sea Ray 350 SLX, an extremely functional and elegant boat is possible.
The fore cockpit is completely free and it can be equipped with a detachable table and a retractable tilt. Arms and glass holders are anywhere. The biggest cockpit (286 x 169 cm) is located on the poop, where it is easier to create a dinette for four people. The hard top hiding the tilt is very functional.
350 SLX has also its inner volumes: on the sides of the central passage there are two rooms, a bathroom on the left (102×146 cm and with a height of 132 cm) and a small cabin, which may be more useful as a locker (the bed is 48 cm wide and 203 cm long) .
Even though the hull is above all conceived to sail in inner waters, we made our sea trail in open sea, in Florida’s waters, and performances were really good.
At first, you must be careful in the horsepower management (our boat had 2 Mercruiser T-ECT 350 MAG Axius engines and a total of 600 HP) but then everything is ok, the hull is precise and we enjoyed to speed up a bit. The boat ensures a great comfort. The fast cruising speed is about 32/34 knots. Consumption is about 100-110 l/h at 32 knots but it decreases to 70 l/h at about 24 knots.
